But we’ll never know. He seems like a super productive highschool player that we can find a spot for.

Brent's gone... Lawson seams like a fine young man. We'll see what kind of football player he is after bulking up. I trust the coaches we have now to make the right decisions. Go Tigers!!!

Re: Would we have offered Lawson ... L.Lawson vs J.Campbell

The unanswerable question has been asked. Who knows? But comparing the 'physical attributes' of L.Lawson vs. Jihaad Campbell (i.e., our original WDE for 2022 class that de-committed after BV left and ended up signing with Alabama):
Both L.Lawson and J.Campbell are (according to recruiting sources) are 6' 3" and 215 lb.
Surely J.Campbell is super fast, presumably that is a big part of AL, Clemson, etc. interest.
Apparently L.Lawson is quite fast, but let's pretend that he's not as fast as J.Campbell.
Who knows how accurately the coaches can project the growth / good-weight-gain potential of one 6'3" guy vs. the other? But unless J.Campbell is Vic Beasley fast (and who knows, maybe he is), then J.Campbell really needs to put on weight to play DE, or else he'll be a OLB.
Clemson, to my admittedly limited understanding, was recruiting J.Campbell to be a DE.
J.Lawson ... who knows? ... is related to Shaq Lawson (I know I know ... no ish Sherlock), but the possibility for J.Lawson to grow to something in the ballpark of S.Lawson would make him a legit DE.
All this BS has a purpose: L.Lawson might well have better 'get bigger faster' potential than J.Campbell. It won't be the first time that a skinny HS kid grew into a monster (Lawrence Taylor was one such person). L.Lawson doesn't have to become Lawrence Taylor to be an outstanding player for us.

I don’t know. But that’s kinda like asking would Caleb Williams entered the transfer portal if Riley was still OU’s head coach and not BV? I don’t know. More importantly, I don’t care. You can only deal with what is right in front of you. And if this staff extended an offer I am 100% positive they did so because they think he can help the team.

about the past. BV is gone and Clemson is moving forward. All that matters now are the ones that WANT to be at Clemson now. . .players and coaches.

Didn’t watch the North,South game, but listened to a little on the radio, Kornblut and Another long time high school coach we’re calling the game, the coach said whoever gets this kid is getting a steal, said he was a very good player!

I don’t care. Lawson doesn’t care. Dabo doesn’t care. Venables doesn’t care.
I do care about Lawson’s time at Clemson. Hope he’s a great student. I hope he’s a great football player.
