List of teams who played like they belonged in the top 4 today:

Nov 5, 2022, 11:23 PM

Georgia

Yep that’s it. Ohio State won which is all that matters in the end but 7-7 at half with a 1-7 team. Tennessee lost. We stunk it up, obviously we were embarrassed, worst loss of all these. Alabama lost. TCU won which is again all that matters but not impressive vs Texas Tech. Losing sucks but the fact that we got ##### slapped is what was painful. Hope Dabo has some answers. I love him and trust him but “It is what it is” is one of the most overused and gamecockish phrases I know.

It was brutal. Worst loss since 2013 to FSU

IMO. Complete domination. How will we respond? We have some weaknesses that need addressed. Short term, win next week. Longterm need playmakers at QB and WR. Need more discipline on defense. We don't play with good eyes at LB, and DE caught caught inside way to much.

We gifted 21 points tonight, second week in a row we've played loose. That's execution. 33 whiffed on the punt block, Cade threw a horrible pass as did DJ.

Alot of questions to answer next week and in the future. The hate towards Dabo is insane honestly.

Completely insane. We can still go 13-1.

Yep love Dabo and he’s our man. But he has some tough decisions to make.

Our fans including me are spoiled. We had Deshaun Watson (Kelly Bryant) and Trevor Lawrence. We likely will never have a stretch of qbs like that again. But there are ways to win without having the generational qbs year after year. And we are 8-1 not like we are 5-4. But it was how bad we lost that hurt even more.

Yes it was an ugly loss. All of the team goals are still on the table.
1. Win the opener
2. Win the division
3. Win the state
4. Win the conference
5. Win the closer.

We can still end up 13-1 with an Orange Bowl victory. Not a bad year.

Every bit as important, we also had Christin Wilkins (and also DJ Reader for our early CFP appearances and Dexter Lawrence for the 2018 Championship had the game-of-his-life Albert Huggins).

These were true super stud D-Tackles.

Tyler Davis belongs in that group, but while we have a bunch of other really good DTs, none of them are in the National Championship Caliber quality of C.Wilkins or D.Lawrence. And again, A.Huggins showed that ... as a Senior ... he was as good as any of our current DTs.

We were in the CFP and won those 2 national championships as much because of great DT play as we did with great QB play.

Got to have BOTH to win against the great opponents.

Let's face it, the ACC is weak except for us.

We've been fortunate to be able to improve pretty much week to week against sometimes genuinely OK opponents. But we've not played any real big boys until tonight.

Sure, the PR block and then the pik-6 led to 14 points, and even if we didn't score a TD on the DJ / pik-6 drive, then a successful FG for us was a near-certainty.

So these miscues contributed 14 points to ND and cost us 3 points.

35 - 14 = 21. 14 + 3 = 17. For the 21 - 17 score, we were beat like baby seals.

Let's hope that we improve (especially on the OL) for next week's game against Louisville. Louisville will be a tough game for us.

We don’t have a player issue, we have a coaching issue. Our offensive staff is pathetic.

Re: List of teams look like top 4 today: Surely not TCU

Nov 5, 2022, 11:52 PM

TCU was on the way to a real problem, but got a huge bailout on a third and very long (in their own territory, no where near mid-field) when the TCU QB was sacked for a ~ 10 yard loss ... and the refs threw a facemask call. (There was no facemask, the DE grabbed the QB's shoulder pad beneath the face-mask.)

This happened in the latter part of Q3, when TCU was behind in a close game.

TCU got the first down, drove down the field, took the lead, and never looked back.

So TCU got lucky with a refs huge bailout. They don't deserve to be in CFP.

If you win the next four, including the ACC championship game, will probably sneak in at number four. But it doesn’t matter, we’re not going to win the national championship with DJ and Cade. We have no receivers, we’re better off going to the Orange bowl and trying to beat a big 10 team like Michigan

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

UGA, OSU, Mich, LSU, TCU ..all played with balls and won even

Nov 6, 2022, 12:12 AM

Though it was ugly at times, they still won….UGA is back to back champs
