TNET: North Carolina offensive lineman impressed by Clemson visit

North Carolina offensive lineman impressed by Clemson visit

The offensive line is a priority for the Clemson coaching staff in the 2020 recruiting cycle, and the Tigers already have three commits on board. The staff hosted those three and top high-priority targets at last weekend’s elite junior day, including 4-star tackle prospect Mitchell Mayes of Raleigh (NC) Leesville Road. Full Story »

Watch out for Mack Brown on these North Carolina recruits. He's old now, but the man can still recruit. They flipped Sam Howell from the Seminoles in the early signing period.
When he is motivated and not just sitting around, he can recruit.

And it's a shame that the old man makes promises that he won't be able to keep at UNCheat, unless it's about fake classes that's offered to everyone with guaranteed great grades that helps to keep them with a suitable GPA....

Yep. UNC can promise fake classes. EXACTLY.

Mom won't like that.

what exactly is Mack going to promise him

Courtside seats and a blue pullover sweater vest to watch basketball?
Play in front of a half empty stadium?
Be 5th fiddle to Wake and Duke and NC State and App State in football, just in North Carolina?
Maybe extra protection that Missouri didn't offer Kelly Bryant and deep pockets for fending off the NCAA?
The opportunity to carry Mack to his office because he is too old to walk the steps himself?

Mack Brown was hired to get boosters to write checks to replenish what was spent on the investigation. Period. End of Story.

Mitchel's build looks like another NC lineman . . .

Feb 1, 2019, 11:24 AM

that chose to be a Tiger, Tyrone Crowder of Richmond HS in Rockingham, NC.

Mitchel is taller, but he looks to be a wide bodied young man!!!

Come South young man and enjoy the hills where the Blue Ridge yawns its greatness, where our Tiger play!!!

Mack is 67. Dabo is 49. Even if they are equal in terms of recruiting abilities, Dabo should still get the edge because he will probably be at Clemson longer then Brown is at UNC, perhaps many years more. Also, there's this little thing of Clemson winning two national titles in the past three years, while UNC sucks. UNC has never come close to winning a national championship in football. They haven't done anything in the ACC in years, and they have to compete with Duke, Wake, and NC Snake, all three just within spitting distance. This young man will be much better off, IMO, if he becomes a Tiger. I've been wrong before, but feel pretty good about this one.

Hard to see what Mitchell could possibly gain by choosing any of those NC schools over Clemson----one of the elite programs in the country. Why go average or below when you can go top tier?? Hard to understand.

Yep, Dabo looks to be in pretty good shape for 49, a few extra setups wouldn't hurt him, but he is in decent shape!!!
