What's really with all the tattoos?

Mar 26, 2017, 3:18 PM

I know a lot of athletes have them, but is it a "look at me, look at me" deal?

They certainly do not enhance one's beauty, strength, speed, skill, etc.

Yeah these tattoos started coming around the past few ..

Mar 26, 2017, 3:22 PM

weeks. You spotted a new trend.

Idiots. If you think tattoos are good looking you are an idiot. If you think rap is music you are an idiot. If you buy clothes with holes in them or pants too big you also are an idiot. No excuses, no trying to explain it socially etc, you are just an idiot.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your the one that sounds like an idiot.

Mar 26, 2017, 3:33 PM

And I don't have tattoos, or baggy pants, or listen to rap music, but I am tolerant of people who do, and do not judge them to be idiots based on a few skin deep qualities.

Exactly... Haha! I agree.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm fine with you thinking me an idiot.

Mar 26, 2017, 3:48 PM [ in reply to Re: What's really with all the tattoos? ]

Primarily because it's so easy to discount your assertion that someone is an idiot for liking something you don't.

To each their own I suppose.

Mar 26, 2017, 4:28 PM [ in reply to Re: What's really with all the tattoos? ]

dongs. I don't buy clothes with holes in them. I think it's all ridiculous. But I do have kids who like all of that stuff, and I know for a fact, they're not idiots. Young, relatively immature, and following every trend, yes, but not idiots. My parents hated the way I dressed in 1976 and they despised my music. Their parents thought they were crazy too when they were young and easing into adulthood and a new, rapidly changing world.

Pop culture isn't for us old farts - it's shaped by and for people younger than us, and it always has been. It's nothing new. I'll take a stand against hate, violence, and a true lack of morality, but they are welcome to their choice in music, fashion, and other pop culture trends, just like I was and we all were.

Nothing new. It's been around awhile now.

Statistically they're starting to diminish.

Mar 26, 2017, 3:54 PM

2 years ago there were more tattoo parlors that closed than opened in the US for the first time i over a decade and that trend continued last year.

Additionally there were more tattoo removal stores that opened than tattoo parlors over the last two years.

There were too many stores. That said, it is odd to see...
