People’s own words are now disinformation

Who are the fascists again?

If you read it, the account wasn't banned

because of misinformation, but because of the use of fake accounts. I think it's about artifically amplifying the reach by using fake accounts to like/retweet, etc.

Twitter lies their ### off

Apr 16, 2021, 8:01 AM

Oops, it was a mistake we banned a news articles on Biden for months. We just opened it up after the election. All's good
Glad he's suing. Hunter Bidens emails were hacked. Do you have proof? Uh, no we don't...but it's still banned

O'keefe
“I am suing Twitter for defamation because they said, I, James O’Keefe, ‘operated fake accounts.’ This is false, this is defamatory, and they will pay,” the Project Veritas founder said in a statement to Fox News. “Section 230 may have protected them before, but it will not protect them from me. The complaint will be filed Monday.”

Yeah, I have no idea if it's true...

Apr 16, 2021, 8:02 AM

I"m just saying...no one said that the account was spreading misinformation.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They always lie and hide why they are doing things

Apr 16, 2021, 8:07 AM

Technical glitch is the best one. We corrected right after the election. All is good.

The propaganda is palpable. Both ways.

Apr 16, 2021, 8:15 AM [ in reply to If you read it, the account wasn't banned ]

Back during the election cycle, I followed a bunch of Donald Trump accounts on social media. Always try and keep diversity and all opinions on the table. I mean there was Real Donald, and then probably 20-30 others. It was interesting what was posted, and the hosting platforms for the "news" stories posted. Then you'd have the account narrate a tweet or post, and then you read the article and it says something else. And in other forums people would post these very same links, with the same narrative, and the story didn't match up.

Even today, We Love Donald Trump is still posting heavily, articles from mostly obscure websites, with spin on other stories on other websites. And as early as yesterday, I saw a retweet of an one of the same "We Love Donald Trump" posts, citing the same narrative in the tweet which was not what the article cited said. And I know this is a real person who believes that, and has NOT read the article.

I'm about 95% sure the one that's still most active is Russian, or Chinese, or something. If it's a person they're off their rocker crazy.

Heck, I see these shady posts in here even. Some blog or "news" site, citing something that either says something totally different, or they make the same contortion of the facts from what is cited, and it's never cited. There's a universe of websites out there with things OTHER than .com, .net, etc. (dots you've never heard of) hosting and pedaling misinformation and flat out falsehoods.

And it's the same on the left as well. You see it in the left in the MSM, but their misinformation is far more subtle. But the bias is just as clear and palpable. And some dude from the left in here posts some garbage from a blog about some story about something someone said. Find out what was actually said, then you see they were misquoted through the filter of speaking, MSM spin, Blog spin, and Tigernet (totally accurate and irrefutable fact). I busted Facebook coach once, citing some blog about something someone said. Searched and found the exact transcript of what was said. Blog was false.

It goes both ways.

Yeah, on the rare occasion I look at political stuff

Apr 16, 2021, 8:27 AM

on Twitter, you can feel the "fakeness" of a lot of the accounts. Very...robotic may be the right word.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not really. They're actually very clear.

Apr 16, 2021, 9:15 AM

Like you see a tweet or post with a narrative, then you see an article from some obscure website. Someone had to type the narrative, and it's usually very clever play on the facts in the article, or it's a fake article that skillfully plays on the facts of the source.

No this isn't "bots". It's either massively obsessed people who have lost their minds and are posting garbage to further an agenda, or they're foreign entities. Either way, it's not robotic or fake at all. There's thought behind it.

It's the same thing the left does in the MSM, but they're just not quite as good at it. But there's enough BS from the left and the MSM, they right wing/foreign bot websites retain credibility with facts at times. This is what really seals the deal. It's really working both ways now almost equally.

The biggest example I can think of (and why I think it's likely Russia), was with the NASCAR Bubba Wallace noose controversy that blew up last year in the MSM. While the collective hands of the MSM were wringing, and media coverage was wall to wall, and NASCAR was all heels, and everything, BEFORE the FBI investigated it, RT posted an old video, from a year earlier, at another race, when Bubba Wallace was NOT in that stall, showing the very same "noose". Someone had tied it as a door pull, long before. That news BROKE on Russia Today and was seen nowhere in the US. It was passed around right wing websites from RT, or vice versa. But, in the end, it was the truth and they gained credibility as a result. It was a prime example of how they gained credibility over CBSNBCCNNABCetc. From that, they can then use that credibility to further agendas. Toss in a nugget of truth here and there, countering the misinformation we all see in the MSM, and then with that credibility, expand a narrative and agenda.

This is what is so dangerous with media bias. With the left entrenched in domestic American media, that lets the right use the same tactics, and since the right has no power in the US, that's an open invite for Russia or foreign actors to further their own agendas. And when liberals lament the danger of Russian influence, it's no less dangerous then the left's own influence in reality. The liberals own tactics invite the rise of the right as well, using the same tactics, or a foreign adversary even.

People need to see this for what it is and turn off the "news" really.

If O'Keefe is your hero, you've got issues.

In a rational society liars like him would be run through the streets like Cersei Lannister like Game of Thrones with that Shame chant, while people throw rotten fruit at them.

The dude is a cancer and the damage he does turning Americans against Americans with pure poisonous lies is pretty much incalculable.

I'm no fan of CNN, but I'd have a hard time not beating O'Keefe's a$$ on the spot if I ever ran across him on the street. Guys like him duck behind the freedoms provided by our country...to literally try to destroy our country. He might as well be working for Russia's Internet Research Agency, that Russian troll factory. Truthfully I've always wondered if he actually does, or is at least bankrolled by them.

His near-total disregard for truth is...loathsome, to me.

He recently got 1 million from the Kochs for project V

Apr 16, 2021, 11:43 PM [ in reply to Re: People’s own words are now disinformation ]

which for him is roughly 2 years of his bloated salary and numerous legal fees.

And O'keefe is a convicted criminal. By this Board's standards, he should be drug out into the street by law enforcement and shot. I mean he would have contributed to his own death.

Did he resist arrest? Do the opposite of the arresting officers? Run away and stash a gun behind a fence? Shoot at cops while his gf was in bed with him? Did he try to wrestle away the cops weapon? Did he point a gun at cops (fake one with orange tip removed)? Maybe I’m forgetting a few.

But Balm is wrong as usual. Class B misdemeanor is not a felony.

Shouldn’t matter, I mean you are ok with a convicted cop killer on the president’s police reform advisory board.

God liberals are the fkn worst people.
