parent was mad that nobody told her that kids were supposed to come to meet the teacher day.
yes, you read that correctly the parent was mad at the teachers for not letting her know what should be obvious

Mrs. Slac chose teaching as a second career...lawd what that woman has to deal with. She once said a good reason to meet the parents is it gives you the instruction manual as to why their kids are so effed up.

"What the GDF is wrong with you?" is frowned upon in education circles. Can't even make up run laps, anymore.
Had a guy on our football team in HS, was a complete dumb a*&, but also a complete math genius...like savant level. By his Sr. year, he'd taken all of the Calc and Stats courses at the local college...for fun kind of savant. AP Calc teacher would get sick of him being disruptive and she would send him out to the track to run laps. Calc was sixth period, so Bubba would be all sweaty before practice, Coach would ask him, "Tough day in math, Bubba?"

I wish I had a nickel for every time I said the EXACT same thing about not lasting the first day as a teacher to Mrs. Tig over the last few years of her teaching career. The handling of Covid by the school administration was her last straw and she retired because she could.

Parent: "Oh no, I'm an idiot"
Teacher: "lol it's ok. it happens"
That should've been the end of it.

From middle school onwards, Meet the Teacher night was an optional parent-only thing up this way.

The fact that the kid wasn't there was no big deal. When she made an issue out of "nobody told me I could bring my kid" is when it got strange
