Clemson visit a highlight for C.J. Avery

Four-star safety prospect C.J. Avery has had a busy summer, but one of the highlights for one of the top targets for 2017 was a visit to Clemson's campus. What does he say about the visit? Full Story »

Will he have time to announce after his season ends to get accepted into the University? Can the admissions office work that fast? Seems to be cutting it very close.

He can be accepted into admissions before he commits

I'm 99% sure about that.

It's just like normal people applying to college, you can get accepted to multiple schools. Athletes erolling in January can even sign their financial aid paperwork (which allows coaches to have unlimited contact) to multiple schools before they commit.

Thanks! I didn't know the process. Does the Athletic Department pay for the semester that begins in January, or does he have to pay his own way if he starts early? I'm guessing Clemson pays it, but if he hasn't yet signed his LOI, how does that work? An eon ago, Clemson did pay for the second session of Summer school after HS graduation for those of us who wanted to come on in and get oriented and get a couple of classes out of the way (and to work us out every day with "voluntary workouts", but nobody then ever entered in January (to my recollection).

Being from Miss and having a Stanford offer is impressive

I really like this guy. Seems like he'd be a huge asset to the program on and off the field. Even though we have guys higher o n our board at the position (Okudah and Bell)and we likely only take 1 Safety this year, I'm still inclined to make him the guy.
