We lost the battle but won the war …

Everybody including the commentators expected this game to be a non-event, and it turned into a two point game …
This game just validated my view that Clemson is a GOOD team and can give anybody “game”.
Key is, as always, “finish”.
Win out the rest of the regular season, they can do it.

What kind of cool aid you drinking? Brad had already given away enough games that he should have won that could have us close to tournament. Only 4-5 ACC teams are going to get in tournament this year due to the overall weakness of the conference. Our ship has already sailed. We will be fortunate just to get an NIT bid. I don’t see it because he is gonna pull his T Bowden and lose some more that he should win.

It's a shame we have to take a whole week off before our next game and lose all of the momentum from last night's impressive loss. Brad just never seems to catch a break.

We would most likely have to win out to get in. 11-9. Say we lose two, Duke, UNC. That puts us at 20-11... And top half of the conference. Tall glass of water. We have a brutal stretch of games between 2 Feb and 12 Feb. Anything is possible. Upset Duke at home and beat UNC, even with a couple other losses, I think we'd have a good chance getting in.

What on earth are y'all talking about?
We are 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the conference. We sit 10th in the conference rankings. We are 73 in NET.
We have three losses to teams outside the top 100 - Rutgers (#112 NET), Boston College (#173), Syracuse (#104).
We have one good win, at Virginia (#94 NET), which is at risk of falling off the "good" list if they drop any further.
I'm not sure why anyone thinks that resume is (a) strong enough to be in consideration for any sort of postseason watch, or (b) strong enough to give you confidence we can finish 9-2.
Our remaining HOME games are (NET in parens): FSU (56), UNC (46), Duke (12), Notre Dame (72), Wake Forest (33), GT (175), and VT (55)
Other than GT on the list above, we haven't beaten any team with that strong of a resume/NET rating all season. I'd be shocked if we win 2 of FSU/UNC/DU/ND/WFU/VT. At best we are 3-4 in our remaining home games.
Our remaining AWAY games are: GT (175), FSU (56), Louisville (113), BC (173). You'd think we could win 3 of those...but who knows. Most likely 2-2.
So a realistic expectation is 5-6 coming in. An optimistic one is 6-5 or 7-4, neither of which gets us a sniff at NCAAT.
We didn't win any war last night...we shot our last bullet and missed.

I agree with you. Any hopes of getting in the NCAA sailed away throughout the season so far. I just hope we can salvage a winning season and make the NIT. That's just the way it is. Sorry... Go Tigers!!!

What war was close to being won? And how is a war won when you lose all the big battles?
