I wish I had been wrong. But living in blood red Trump country, I can tell you, these are angry, disaffected, highly armed, well-trained people who are doing what they are doing in DC. This isn't White suburban Antifa dress-up and play rioters. These men and women are serious.
It is scary AF but remember, their anger comes from somewhere and until the issues that concern them are addressed, this is unlikely to end.
I pray for somehow the National Guard or someone to get mobilized to stop this asap.
But what they stop today won't end it due to the pervasiveness of social media and people being egged on by their "leaders" in the media and in politics.
A Dem Super Majority does not help things one bit.
Lord help us.

as some, but of course whoever did this and whatever part Trump played today has to stand on its own two feet. Whoever needs to go to jail needs to go to jail, and if sufficient police were not put in force soon enough, that has to be dealt with.
However as you said, or at least implied, if we are not willing to widen the view and see that this didn't happen all by itself, this will get worse before it gets better. A beginning point might be to admit that when riots became legal, riots became legal. The issues you alluded to are way deeper than a mechanical thing like that, but if we can't admit to that how will we ever admit to the underlying decay that has been happening?
