The Impeachment Trial of Donald John Trump has begun.

Jan 16, 2020, 12:25 PM

As the trial proceeds and witnesses are called and documents and facts are presented, the pressure on Republicans in the Senate from their Constituents will grow.

These things have a way of taking on a life of their own. Especially when you have such a vile and corrupt individual like this president who cannot control his corrupt impulses.

good luck

What you dont understand is that you have been conducting this in a Vacuum with ZERO oversite or defense.

Every one of your witnesses are going to cross examined VIGOROUSLY. And guess what.....if witnesses are called, the defense is going to be allowed to call witnesses, something they were DENIED in the house.

Keep striking matches though

prosecution and defense wants to call having a voice is such an important matter? Bring 'em all up. It sure seems like one side in particular is reluctant to take this path though, for some reason.

have you ever been to court?

Jan 16, 2020, 12:57 PM

this isnt a city council meeting with open mic night.

The Prosecution is going to FIGHT any witnesses they seem as a detriment to their case.

And the defense is going to fight for those witnesses and fight against any that hurt their case.

And since the Senate has the SOLE responsibility to hold the trial, they can look at the prosecutions case and dismiss (kinda like summary judgement)

Which witnesses that can refute the scheme that Trump pulled

have Democrats denied and what will they testify to under oath?

Just curious what you know as not a single witness has come out that has done so.

I've been to court, and the prosecution can't fight witnesses that have obvious relevant testimony. You're accused of murder. You're brother and 3 friends were with you 300 miles away at a ball game when the crime was committed. The prosecution can't "fight" the testimony of your brother and 3 friends.

Court is a fact finding exercise, unless you're in Bolivia.

Cross examination is sweet, but what about facts?

Jan 16, 2020, 1:00 PM [ in reply to yall have been trying to set fire to the ocean for 3 years ]

Will Republicans ever be able to find a witness that can refute the facts that have come out and will continue to come out in spite of the maximum obstruction campaign from the White House.

It sounds good on the surface to think that Republicans have some special legal defense talent that can make all of these witness look like liars whose stories don't actually corroborate each other, but what about an actual fact witness that can refute what we have already learned? Hysterical Jimmy Jordan?

Whistling past the grave yard.

Sondland is Trump's Ambassador to the European Union.

Jan 16, 2020, 1:36 PM

As we speak. Odd that you would refer to him as Democrats' "top dog." He had to amend his testimony(twice) after it was revealed he was lying to protect Trump.

Were you not aware of that?

Again, you may not be aware, but there were quite a few individuals that testified to the scheme and quite a few that were obstructed from testifying because their testimony would further prove Trump's guilt.

But, as we move through the trial, you will see more testimony and additional damning evidence discovered and presented that will only re-enforce and corroborate all of the prior testimony.

There are any number of witnesses that will be called including possibly John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Pence, Mick Mulvaney et al that will shed additional light on the corruption that defines this White House.

The thing is, even Republican know that he is a vile disgusting corrupt individual, and that he is GUILTY as charged, they just want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend they're ignorant of those facts.

Everybody knows what he is.

In a vacuum you may be right. But Sondland's testimony was corraborated by 4 other witnesses. So no, it was hardly the coup d' grace you portray..
