line of slow-moving cars that drove out to Easley, then drove back to Clemson, then mostly drove to Pendleton, and then drove back to Clemson again. Some of ya'll in that convoy probably had to drive all the way back out to Easley, and you did God's work, gentlemen.

I grew disgusted early in the second half and went to the Easley library. But of course I listened on SiriusXM. We suddenly started playing better. I thought at first it was coincidence, but no, while I was in the library, DJ apparently got intercepted, and then when I was back in the car, he got traded out for Cade, and the next thing I knew, we were in a ballgame. I like DJ, but he's like that fellow in the Andy Griffith episode who can only do competent work when nobody's watching him. That doesn't work so well for a quarterback.

But anyway, apparently I wasn't alone, because I suddenly found myself in a convoy with a bunch of other men who'd grown disgusted and gotten in their cars to run errands. And so there we were, going 35 miles an hour on a 65 mile an hour stretch of 123 because we really had no particular place to go. I took the scenic route back onto Chastain, meandered through Central, all of us going about 15 miles an hour down main street because we hit a commercial break. That's when many of you who were with me took the left out to Walmart so you could head back to Easley. I rode into Clemson, then realized I needed to make it to Pendleton, or I was gonna have to sit in my parking lot for half-an-hour.

Anyway, I time it up about right. We had a hard time of it while I was in the parking spot, and I apologize for that. It occurred to me that yes, it might be a case where my car needed to be in motion for the mojo to work. So I backed up and drove around the parking lot in reverse for a little while, and sure enough, we intercepted the ball there.

Well, just know that when you're in your darkest moments watching Clemson football that many of us are out in our cars driving who-knows-where, unable to stop, because we keep getting first downs. And say a little prayer for us. it can't hurt.
