thread, but there certainly does seem to be a massive double standard when it comes to Pub/Dem politicians rhetoric. Dems basically get a free pass, encourage confrontations based on political ideology, encourage rioters...hell, even bail em out. While Pubs generally have to walk on eggshells.
I have watched Democrats more or less use Trump's style of rhetoric and attacks on their political opponents my entire life, but it apparently only became a problem in 2016.
That said, we've seen what the militant left is capable of, acting like they're just a bunch of peaceful Glee fanatics seems kind of naive given the billions of dollars of destruction "protests" have left in their wake over the past few years.

Not really. But I'd keep in mind the nature of left-wing violence. It's class-based...and it tends to exist where there's an obvious gulf in wealth and class...and limited mobility between classes. You want to destroy a culture, destroy its middle class...and that's where leftist violence can really spark.
Take the Red Army Brigades or Red Army Faction in Europe in the '70's and '80's. Those were largely Soviet-sponsored (actually Putin's little KGB outfit in Stuttgart was directly recruiting folks for the Red Army Faction, which killed a bunch of people and blew up a bunch of stuff in Germany). A lot of those vicious little psychos thought nothing of capping somebody just because they were rich. The Red Brigades kidnapped former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro and left him dead in the trunk of a car...for trying to negotiate a peace settlement.
Antifa's roots are actually in the RAF - they still dress in the same black gear - but they dispersed with centralized authority and even a cell structure. They're each free agents, pure anarchists...and they show up when they wanna, period, and the second they peel off the black they're civvies again, the deed is done. It means they can mobilize in a hurry in urban areas but it's largely in response to groups they're tracking. They're reactive, a leftist bunch of Minutemen, and they're not actively organizing and engineering more sophisticated trouble the way the RAF or Red Brigades did. They'd have to form back into cells to do that...and indeed the Feds should keep an eye peeled their way to make sure they aren't doing that, because that's when they'll start shooting the Tucker Carlsons and Mike Lindells and anybody they perceive as "dangerous"...and then move right on to Marxist Revolution.
