year. They have no pass rusher on the team. Does yahoo think that a student will walk on this week and become a pass rusher?

...and they have the best D-line we'll play all year. I highly doubt we keep them from getting to Tajh.

their D- line isn't better than South Carolina's...

and they aren't great at getting to the QB. Their strength is stopping the run.
Actually, I'm not sure their D- line is a whole lot better than NC State's...

ding ding ding...we have a winner.
Go look at stats guys....1st down d (typically w most teams = runs), 4th down d (again, usually only done in short yardage, majority = runs), and rushing D.....there's where Fl State is ranked higher than Clemson's D (as well as in total defense stats). They are more dominant in their run defense....and that's even when padding against fluff teams.

FSU has comparable stats to SC's right now when it comes to a pass rush and getting in the backfield. They blow SC out of the water when you're talking about the running game though. FSU has given up a total of 1 TD to SC's 7 and 639 yards compared to SC's 857. Like I said, FSU's line is the best we'll face all year.

Mark it down...the only way their D-Line will dominate us is if Swinney hasn't done what I think he has. Anyone remembering the national attention about him saying something about it's always going to Tajh in short yard situations? He's been baiting people by doing it consistently. Everyone saw it collapse in the last few games.
Might be just my opinion, but I'm betting THIS is the game we bait a team on it that also has sold into it and eat them big for it on a misdirection...and who better to do it to than a D built on run defense and 4th down D that stops runs. 4th and 16 ring a bell, anyone?

a lot of people's predictions are based on hype only...

looking at stats, Clemson held BC to around half the number of rushing yards that FSU gave up. Anybody talking about that?
Clemson also produces a very good pass rush, including against good OLs like BC and UGa, but FSU hasn't produced a pass rush all year. And what about this: yes, BC confused our OL and they hurried Boyd, but they didn't actually have any sacks despite coming into the game as one of the better sack teams in the country. Part of the reason they had so many sacks already was that they sacked Winston 4 times.
Another thing to take into account: despite our OL problems against BC, Boyd passed for four more yards than Winston did and had a 7% higher completion percentage.
Finally, Winston was the leading rusher for FSU against BC, with nobody else getting more than 50 yards. Clemson rushed for three more yards against BC, with McDowell nearly gaining 100 yards.

On a hype train, nobody. >< Gotta love the hype about one QB, yet hardly any talk about who actually has the more dominant D on 7 out of 11 stats that one or both teams are listed on that could pose him a problem. If we win though, bet like the LSU game, all we will hear about is Clemson's D all the way to the WB cluck-bowl.
