Stop blaming and criticizing Cole Stoudt. Blame the coaches. This season is squarely on the shoulders of our coaches. It was their choice to put Cole in the game. And while you're at it, blame the QB coach for not preparing Cole to play in a Chad Morris offense - and not recognizing earlier that he wasn't well-prepared to execute the plays. That one is squarely on CM.

I don't think Cole gets to make the decisions about which players take the field. I believe that is the coach's decision.

I don't think you can blame Cole for Chad's exit from the program. Good grief. Come on! I'm not saying CS should take the field for the Tigers, but it wasn't his decision. He took the field because the coaches decided to put him in the game. Stop trying to argue that fact.

What I'm getting at is you can't have 5 QBs taking up scholarships. We had Boyd,Kelly,Stoudt, Schuessler, and Watson coming. I know we need good QBs but you can't use up more Schollies on more QBs who probably don't get to play.

Obviously, that is correct. But all of these people on here blaming Cole for our 9-3 season and criticizing him for - possibly - playing in the bowl game, are t-total crazy. At the end of the day, it's the coach's decision to put him on the field time and time again. And again, you can't put our lack of depth at QB on Cole's shoulders.

I don't put that on Cole at all. I'm just saying that with our current situation Cole is really the only other option. I will be pulling for Cole to do well,but we all know how this will turn out I think. I hope I am wrong.

The fact that he is our only option is a coaching/recruiting problem. My OP was simply calling out folks who are blaming Cole for our losses and criticizing him for poor performances, when blame should lie with our coaching staff. Not only for putting him on the field, but for either not preparing him during his 3 year tenure in #2 spot, or not recognizing that he wasn't a good fit in the system. That seems like a deficiency at QB coach to me.

they are not playing well is trash behavior. And people say women are emotional? Look at all the dudes on here who embarrass themselves by throwing tantrums directed at college kids simply because they are not playing well.
You are obviously correct that only the coaches can be held accountable for shortcomings on the depth chart. And if people choose to not blame the coaches, which is certainly reasonable in many scenarios, then they certainly can't fault Clemson athletes for doing their best and failing.
Some people can't understand the difference between recognizing roster deficiencies and attacking individual Clemson Tigers. It degrades the concept of Clemson family to do the latter. Plain and simple.
Save the jabs for the coaches, administrators, refs and the fans. Don't attack the young men who volunteer to give their all for Clemson.

Exactly. I'd be willing to bet that CS probably isn't looking forward to taking the field in a bowl game. I'm sure he recognizes his deficiencies and understands that he is lacking in our system. And the folks complaining also seem to be blaming Cole for Nick Schuessler (sp?) not being good enough to win in the bowl game. It's absurd. Our coaches had 3 years to prepare CS or at least recognize that he wasn't a good fit in our offense. They gave him the #1 spot, and then the #2 spot. It's on the coaches.
