A Clemson Memorial Day: Our hero salutes his heroes

Thank you for including:
The Cold War – 28
Global War on Terrorism – 3
For many of us, they were continuations of the Vietnam Nam Era, on active duty & as civilians working for DoD. The “Cold War” wasn’t always cold.

Well David, you've outdone yourself once again. A great piece for honoring our fallen heroes.
May God bless America and the souls who gave their all to defend it!

Thank you Col Skardon and to all the veterans who served. Colonel Ben Skardon is a great reminder
of the "tough" great men and women who help preserve the freedom for the USA. THANK YOU David!

I to salute all Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of our country, and to the American unknown soldiers around the world who lay in unmarked graves, and to those who got up this morning and put on the uniform that represents Americas men and women that has sworn to protect our freedom with their own life. God Bless America, the land of the free, the home of the bravest men and women who freely choose to serve and protect the freedom of our country against all others, I give you my most gracious thank you from my heart, Thank You!!!!

grew up in Clemson and went to D.W. Daniel High. He went on to be a highly decorated Helicopter Parent in Vietnam KIA one day after his B'day with only 2 weeks left trying to rescue his Brothers in an ambush. A YouTube is about him called Dogtags and Body Bags, a Tribute to CWO Barry Alexander.
Sam Skardon, a nephew of Colonel Ben is running for a senate seat in Charleston area.

We Clemson Alumni who served in the Armed Forces are humbled by the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters who represent our country and university so well.

I don’t know of anyone who could have written this article better, Mr. Hood. Thank you for writing so often of the things that hold us together at Clemson.
