#1 Why announce at all?

I'm excited about it, and think TL gives us the best chance to win, but still.

#1. Because the QB is the focal point of an offense. Naming a starter does not in anyway tell a team they don't have to prepare for both, nor does it tell the game plan.
#2. Because this week's practices start today (yesterday was an off day), thus the new starter will likely be taking the first team snaps the most.
#3. Yes, they do...but game play vs real opponents means more than practice. And Trevor has also done well in practices. As a side note, spring and fall practices mean less than current ones.

Let's be honest ppl.....how bad would the GT game had gone if KB was starting the whole game? The dude went three and out twice in a row against a team of sub-par defense. Let that sink in; our FIFTH year senior wasn't beat out (necessarily) by talent as much as he was beat out by himself.

Oh there were several....every person that discussed his last season's record, or that he "got us to the playoffs last year" weren't talking pro-coaches' decision...that's being pro-last year's starter, i.e. pro-KB.

Really respect the coaching staff for their handling of the quarterback situation. Kelly Bryant is a leader of this team and has a proven track record. Trevor Lawrence is an incredible talent, and has earned the starting job. Lawrence has been named the starter, but I don't believe that removes Bryant from the picture. No doubt Lawrence was more productive against GT, but don't forget how Bryant stepped up in College Station to lead us to the win. Some sports analysts are concerned about a true freshman being able to lead us back to the CFP, but I don't share that concern and would respond with 2 reasons. 1. Have you seen Lawrence play? Incredible talent. 2. Kelly Bryant is still a Tiger. He will continue to compete for the starting job, and if needed will be ready to lead us there again. Very proud of ALL of our Tigers. There is talent all over the roster. Go Tigers!!!!

I would love to see KB2 used in a different capacity in the offense. I believe he could be an extra threat as a slot
guy.

Can he execute a comeback block on a nickleback or linebacker on a jet sweep or wideout screen? Do that well and he can become a slot receiver.

Even though I do feel for KB2 in this situation, let's not over-blow it. It is not like this will ruin his Heisman hopes or sink a possible first round draft pick for him. In fact, if he accepts this with class, it might very well lead to an NFL team using a 3rd or 4th round pick on him due to him being a team player. The chance of him even being drafted are not that great in the first place. He's better than Jalen Hurts, but that is not saying much. He has not got the size or arm strength and accuracy for any team to use a high round draft pick on him. Having a big heart and doing all he can for his team does not change that. If he was a really great QB, that was high on the NFL radar, there would not have even been a QB controversy. Entering college, KB2 was the #10 ranked QB in the Nation...a four star recruit. He is surrounded by five star talent with very, very good wide receivers that are capable of dominating, but they have to have opportunities to make the very explosive plays down the field. KB2 can not make those passes with accuracy, and these wide receivers want to make these big plays. If KB2 was the best passer Clemson had, they might just have to accept his very average passing ability. In what Universe is it fair to these wide receivers to have their talent over-looked because a 4* QB can not pass accurately while the best QB, possibly in the whole country sits on the bench. Entering the season, I thought Kelly Bryant would be the best choice as the starter, but after 4 games, I've seen enough to change my mind. Clemson could still make the playoffs with KB2 at the helm, but I do not think Clemson has any real chance of beating UGA or Bama with KB2 as the quarterback. I hope we keep both TL and KB2, but it is doubtful, since KB2 does have enough talent to be the starter at most Universities, just not at Clemson while TL rides the bench.

I don’t know why.. KB couldn’t move the ball against GT in the first few drives, then the freshman came out and light them up. You want to know what TL is going to do against a defense with a pulse? We just saw that KB couldn’t do it against GT, so why would you think he would do any better against Bama or Georgia?

I am not mad about TL starting...I am mad that Dabo keeps pulling the starters out too early and lets other teams score on Clemson....What Dabo doesnt realize is that rankings are done by the AP right now and they do not look at the aspect that you starters were out of the game...they look at the score....I may be a small fish in a large ocean with this comment, but I have never thought Dabo is a good coach, I think Dabo is surrounded by good coaches and that makes his job easier....When both your Coordinators have won the Broyles award back to back, that makes the HC job easier...KB will get some playing time count on it...

Can't argue with production and results. It is what it is. Dabo dangling a bone in front of KB saying this is just a week to week thing. Baring injury Bryant has started his last game.

I've heard that it was announced today to give the team time to deal with it. But what I hear KB's team mates that have been through the fire with him at the helm are PISSED... So we will see how the team stays together... I would advise them to stay off this site...
