Would Bud Foster Be A Good Replacement for Venables?

Dec 5, 2017, 8:52 AM

Since it is clear Bud Foster is not going to be a head coach, would his defense work at Clemson? If he could get the players that we are able to recruit with Dabo's style of playing young players early, would Bud Look at Clemson as a new and fresh opportunity?

Just throwing a thought out there.

I am not so sure...He should have been a HC by now.

He is in his mid-late 50's and that wind of opportunity is closing. If he has aspirations of winning a national title VT is not the place...Just a thought.

Absolutely. With the athletes we have his scheme would be just as dominate as BVs. He’s a great coach. I doubt he would come here though, maybe if Fuente takes another job and he doesn’t want to go with him.

Don’t think he would leave. Could go after Chavis again as he would probably be keen on coming back home to S.C.

That would allow Conn more time to develop and then he would be ready to take over once Chavis retires

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

That would be an interesting hire***

Bud won't leave Va. Tech unless forced to do so. I hear he still lives with his mom( no harm in that) just saying. He is a great defensive mind but he does more with less than most. Don't know how he would do with the Tigers talent.

If Venables was to leave which he won't Dabo already has his replacement picked out. And it won't be any of the names that you have thrown out

It will almost assuredly be someone on staff. Just like when Morris left.

He wouldn't leave and I am really hoping Coach V would be just like him.

I hate he didn't just shut the question down yesterday and answer like he always does by simply saying I like where I'm at. makes me nervous. Coot radio all over it this morning... playing the soundbite over and over.

Let's see if we can get Belichick first. Maybe he's grown tired of the league. About as likely.

He would be great. It would allow him to scheme with top recruits and build his resume for an eventual HC job. It all depends on how he fells about Fuente (spelling). Fuente has been names as possible candidates at bigger jobs and it may behoove him to find more stability as at Clemson.
