Jul 21, 2021, 7:36 PM

University of Georgia, University of Florida and Penn State have approached the ACC about joining.

Truth be told, Midlands Technical College is better than all 4 and a lot better professors!

If you are thinking GA and FU, yes. I assume PSU is too.

So, all three. As is, UL is the answer to what-is-wrong-with-this-picture. But give the OP points for a funny troll.

This raises some interesting speculation. If Oklahoma and Texas did join the SEC and one went to the Eastern Conference and one to the Western conference, My money would be on Oklahoma assigned to the Eastern conference. Such a move would imperil the Gators and Bulldogs current perceived superiority in the astern conference.

The thought of the Gators and Bulldogs moving to the ACC may not be so far fetched after all. That would give the ACC three teams in Florida and two teams in Georgia. Regardless of our "unbiased" opinions about our beloved Gamecocks, they would be more at home by coming back to the ACC. This would give the ACC two teams in South Carolina.

They never should have left the ACC because the NCAA started the shot clock in basketball.

It’s an interesting thought... that would give the ACC complete markets in the states of PA, FL and GA. That would significantly impact TV markets, recruiting, and NIL. Imagine if ACC teams could get close to 100% of the top recruits from FL, GA, NC, VA and PA.

Joe, if those two joined the SEC, I would think they would both be in the west and they would slide one from the west over (Auburn?). Of course Alabama-Auburn would have to be the permanent cross division matchup.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Would be funny if they moved Texas A&M to the east and did not make texas cross rival***

What if they moved

Jul 22, 2021, 10:11 PM [ in reply to Re: Sources in Atlanta saying ]

Auburn and Alabama to the East? Because geographically, that makes more sense. East would be wrecked.

Although in fairness, Miami and VT were supposed to strengthen the ACC. VT pulled their weight for a few, but Miami… ??

Why would UGA want to compete in a lesser Conference?

But honestly, I will believe South Carolina will win the next five national championships in football before I'd believe Florida or Georgia would leave the SEC. Just too much money there.
