Would a 5 team playoff be feasible?

Have the #4 and #5 seed basically be the play in game. It’ll give the #1 seed an advantage of an extra game of footage on their next opponent and it will also punish a team like last years Alabama by not giving them an extra week of rest by not playing in the conference championship game.

You have great ideas. Not sure this is one of them though... The number 4 team also suffers and the #1 team gets a break. #2 and #3 sayin' what's up with that?

Realistically though, the only 5 team playoff we’d possibly get is Bama always has two byes and the other four play to see who gets to play Bama.

No, four is too many as it is IMO. I prefer the old BCS approach that pitted #1 vs #2, winner take all. Wasn't perfect on the rare occasion where the season ends with three undefeated teams, but that's life.

No.
It's one thing to have BB play-in games, but for football it's unfair for some team(s) to have a bye. Your choices are 4, 8 or 16.

Why, just dilutes it more. 4 is the best #for the playoff. There will be arguments for #9 should have been #8 if you go to the next level. Too much if a disadvantage to the other three teams in playoff.

what it's worth. Let it play out as it is and they will figure out how to get a good healthy field of teams when this contract expires. We should settle for less than a 64 team playoff, imo.

An 8 game G5 playoff system is needed. The winners of the top g5 conferences and 3 open bids to the next best 3. This takes away voting for the winners of the top 5 G% conferences. No more than that
#s one through souuld play the bottom 4 in the playoffs.
Ithe first playoff game sould be leald on the top 4s feild. Bothe as a reward and to cut travel costs to other last 2 games the winner will have to travel to.
The last 2 sets of games will still go to the top bowls on a rotational bases.
The other 121 teams in D! still have a chance to bowls that tey deserve.
