nobody else huh. where do they find you people anywhere. better look at a resume before typing anything as stupid as that. all careers come to an end. but your question was beyond laughable.

This is a dumb-ass comment - look at......

his career objectively and you can't argue that he's been a successful coach for us in the past. Now, for whatever reason(s), it's gotten away from him and it's probably retirement time for him. But your comment isn't fair to his overall career as our coach.

yeah I really wonder what that is that has gotten away from him or maybe it is a few things. Our trend line has been downward recently especially this year. recruiting, facilities, funding all are probably factors. This year and maybe even last it seems the same type errors and mistakes crop up over and over again. I'm sure they get addressed. In the past they got corrected. recently not so much. That is what makes me not question that we need some major changes in the program. obviously the man is a very fine coach. why is he now not producing the results

His current assistants haven't helped his cause either.

Wilhelm's vision was not 20/20, but I'm guessing he saw....

20 NCAA Regional Appearances, 8 NCAA Super Regionals (since it's inception in 1999), 6 CWS appearances, significant facilities improvements, tremendous increase in home attendance, and numerous former players with successful MLB careers.
That's some pretty good vision for a guy who wore glasses.

I'm not going to stop to count them but he saw someone that would lead Tigers to _ CWS and _regionals and _super-regionals and hopefully he will continue his streak of no losing seasons. His time has come but I'm not going to deny him his many accomplishments. Yours is the dumbest post of the year and I believe the first one of which I've ever been critical.

Don't know why you Leggett Haters always bring up Wilhelm, when Leggett was his hand picked successor.

A great baseball coach who built

Western Carolina Baseball into a Southern Conference power. Also a former college baseball player who played in the college world series.
Jack has had more success in his field than less than .05% of the population. His coaching tree is unparalleled in the sport. The respect that he has from his peers is unprecedented and you'd be lucky to enjoy the same respect. BW brought Jack in as a coach in waiting and he took over for him and has lead this program to great success.
If you know half as much about college baseball as you claim then you'd know clemson has been at a scholarship disadvantages to several of the new powers in ACC baseball and SEC baseball like UVA, UNC, Vanderbilt, and U of F. If you don't believe me do the research.
If Clemson fires Jack and I think that will be a huge mistake you can forget getting a former assistant. It will also create a huge void in the program that will take a decade to repair.
Jack has earn the right to take advantage of the new facilities and additional funding no matter what Internet coaches think.

Lucky to have met, interviewed & written article of Bill W b/4

He retired..and really liked him as a baseball coach of many accomplishments & as a man of knowledge, loyalty & cordialness to all.
Later saw him on a Sunday morning coming out of the sports offices and he was nice enough to stop and say a few words to me and my guest.

While I will be one of the first to criticize jl, your post does not consider the whole picture. Both Clemson and jack have failed to keep up with the times. Your post is ill conceived and misinformed.
