Wonder how close Clemson really was in signing Gronkowski

Dec 17, 2017, 7:13 PM

Probably would have kept Bowden employed, so glad we did not get him

He made an official visit to us which I never knew until recently.

didn't he sign a letter of intent to us and Arizona...

or something like that. Great player, but he doesn't fit in with Clemson
with his dbaggery

I think he was “committed” to us until right before

Signing day. I would love to hear whole truth, story on how things actually happened.

That is correct. He was a verbal until a couple of days before signing day.

Rob was committed TO Clemson and Clemson had a walk-on

Opportunity for one of his brothers. Arizona came in at last hour and offered scholly to both.

the way i remember it, the bro was at Md (they were still in the ACC ) and Md wouldn't release him. And if i remember correctly the older bro was actually playing baseball at Md. could have been that he was playing football and wanted to play baseball here. memory fades after a while.

wouldn't have made a difference for Bowden***

While committed to Ckemson he made a comment to the media that he could not wait to get to schoool and bag some our our girls. He switched to AZ a few weeks later. He really did not fit in here

Rob was NEVER coming to Clemson. Bowden's Staff was duped by him and his Family.
His Brother was playing at Maryland, they hated Clemson and got over on the staff for holding a TE slot for him. Clemson did not get to replace that slot because he jumped to Arizona so late.

That is where, "We got Gronked" came from.
