It is interesting that you are projecting a victim narrative on those you actively dislike and of whom you do not care about their talents if they make you uncomfortable. That discrimination is the deadly disease. That you are triggered by beer cans is a disease.

The purported philosophical raison d’etre for wokeism has not created outcomes consistent with its purpose.
Wokeism has indeed created a coercive environment in which the physical characteristics of selected favored demographic groups have become the primary criterion which is used in the hiring of employees.
In order to achieve this manifestly race / gender identity hiring goal, the Dabo adage of ‘best is the standard’ is replaced by the mantra of ‘diversity is the objective.
The consequence is that those businesses which are founded on STEM skilled employees are struggling to attract and retain enough technical employees to maintain the health of the business.
Don’t believe me? Get your hands on Intel’s annual report and proxy statement and have at it. Although admitting that a shortage of engineers and scientists is a serious problem, Intel nevertheless goes into great detail about their intentions to hire ‘under represented’ minorities (which is thinly veiled code for blacks, Native Americans, and Hispanics).
BlackRock, that infamous investment colossus that does the USA government’s bidding in coercing companies into enacting ESG objectives, is a large holder of Intel stock. BlackRock has installed at least one employee on Intel’s board of directors (I don’t recall if BR had installed more than one of their people on Intel’s board).
Intel, a strategically important private company whose technological prowess is critical for the USA in both economic and national defense arenas, is being forced to divert management attention away from Intel’s core HR need (more of the best & brightest among technical personnel) and focus on ESG ‘under represented’ minority quotas.
Get woke, go broke. Wake up, America!

and the belief and understanding of this is what woke means Bill. Some of you think equality means taking away your rights, which would be some sort of, well, supremacy. The rest of you think words are the boogy man and project your own grievances onto this an label anything you don't agree with, "Woke". This dumbing down of our language is troublesome, because we are no longer communicating, just talking at each other.

Why can’t the actions of ‘wokeism’ live up to the ideals of wokeism, e.g., (quoting from you) “ people, regardless of race, should all be treated equally under the law, …”?
It isn’t 1975 any more.
American enterprises need the best and brightest from among all vocations (not just the STEM categories). They will gladly hire anyone, regardless of race / gender, that can help them.
It still needs to be a competition between candidate employees for the non-physical jobs, however, if the enterprise is to build / sustain a company that can effectively compete.
(*). The above in no way implies that less-than-valedictory candidates won’t get hired. There are not enough valedictorians to go around. The under represented minorities with the skills to do the job are eagerly gobbled up by employers of today.
‘Quota engineering’ is an unproductive distraction on companies.
Wokeism has quickly devolved from its lofty ‘social resetting’ objective into yet another case of political opportunism via needless pandering to the under represented minority demographic.

You're missing the point, what I am saying is that people don't understand the meaning of words, and that is a problem, for instance, "Florida is where Woke goes to die", basically means Florida is where the fight for equality goes to die.", whether racial of socioeconomic. It is a very powerful message to those in power that the establishment in Florida seeks to keep them in power, to the mouth breathers, it is just a word they casually lob at anything they disapprove of, and politicians have seized on this stupidity. It is forehead-slapping stuff if you could just step back a few years when "Woke" meant you were not some group-think automaton that believed everything they saw on cable news.

Woke has little to do with gender identity, or what is taught in schools. It is literally just a word that was weaponized to undermine any move or change that would undermine the established power structure. People who are all literally fighting for the same things in this country are being turned against each other.
I am getting too old to preach this stuff. sigh
