They say here in the DC metro area that it's related to the cicada and bugs feeding on the eggs. Some were saying chiggers, and I was like, you obviously have never had SC chiggers.

chiggers lately. But at the lake they're always bad. At least they felt like chiggers and are biting me in the chiggery places they normally bite. And chiggers are worse than noseeums IMO.

they what Yankees call sand gnats? Only thing I can figure, tiny biting bugs.
If so......
Not sure the Avon lady exists any more but THIS is the only proven ammo against sand gnats. Believe me, I have many years expert experience. We carried a bottle around with us at all times. We used to even pour it in our football helmets during games as a kid. The eye sting from it wasn't as bad as those ###### bites.

and she got eaten up man. They are nasty freaking bites too. They are flesh eating mites, not like chiggers. I haven’t ever seen anything like them.

Oh and around the bite mark/hole that they cause they, there is basically zits that spew some nasty brown liquid. I am telling you, it’s disgusting.

but in the hole/bite spot it’s all reddish brown from the blood. Well this morning she sent me a picture and she squeezed it and it looked like a cyst from a Dr Pimple Popper video.
I actually can’t wait to get home tonight and see them. It’s disgustingly awesome.
