there's more spots. so saying cbb gets us into "the dance" is'n't that big of a deal, really.

that successfully recruit those players, this year's tournament was ripe for a nice Clemson run. The same could probably be said for the ACC Tournament.

Well technically there Are 35 bowl games and no automatic bids so there are less spots to get into the tournament.

Isn't getting into the tourney easier than getting a bowl

in football? You're right - it's a sign that we had a respectable year - that's it. Those who are satisfied with that alone have accepted a sad, pathetic existence. The football equivalent would be celebrating losing the Music City Bowl to Kentucky because, well, we went to a bowl!

With the ability to schedule 3-4 cupcakes in non conference and only having to go 6-6.


However I do think people overstate the difficulty of getting into the ncaa tournament. For power conference teams you pretty much just have to go .500 in league play

to WIN the NCAA tournament back when half as many teams made the cut.

Less games to play = less chance for an upset. Ask Ohio State this year and Virginia a couple of years ago.

Only conference were champs invited, so some really great teams weren’t even present. Ask the 1972 Maryland team.

The road the the Final Four used to be an extremely short drive for programs like UCLA.
