Wish I was as confident as some of you.....

Would love to get back to the 30-40 point win, but have to say that I'm not as confident as some of you, until I see our defense show our true potential. Wake threw all over us; FSU ran all over us. Syracuse has ability (as least against who they've played, including Purdue) for a balanced attack. Sure, our home crowd if gonna help, but need to show that we are a top tier defense this game. Not as concerned about our offense - we will put points on the board; just want/need to see more from our defense at this point in the season (preparing for final stretch)

They have not really played a team with much of a defense. State was banged up. Purdue seemed to move the ball well on their defense which is probably the only offense they have played. Saying that I think we win by 14-20 points.

Purdue is not a good team amd scored more on Syracuse than they did against FL Atlantic and Minnesota .

I'm in the concerned camp as well but I think this could be the week we finally begin to put it all together and play a complete game for four quarters. I was glad to see the defense call a players-only meeting this week. I think they are tired of getting pushed around and tired of hearing how the offense is carrying them. With it being homecoming and another undefeated team coming in to challenge us, we should have no trouble with energy and motivation this week. If we have another great home crowd that shows out loud and proud on Saturday, I believe our team will respond.

slip into "playing not to lose" because that's what gets us into trouble. I can't stand it when we get a good lead on a team and then start playing "vanilla" on offense instead of being aggressive. And then the defense has a tendency to sit back.

There's no doubt we have an excellent team. They just need to challenge themselves to play their best for the whole game. This applies to the coaches, too, not just the players.

Sometimes you can coast to victory, but the time is coming (and indeed is now here) when Clemson must show up with 15:00 remaining in the first quarter and play hard until the final whistle. Just like we've heard in recent years... LEAVE NO DOUBT. If Clemson is capable of doing it this year, the time is now. And yes, it needs to happen on BOTH sides of the ball. Offense and defense.
