Really regretting have bought my daughters laptops for Christmas.
Microsoft does not support POP3 email anymore. Bill Gates is rolling over in his grave.

Windows 2000, shouldn't be in there as it was in the NT line, and ME should have been there and it sucked.

But this may be the first time I fully understand why people hate an operating system.

The only reason I use this brand is the lightness of the laptop itself. its much easier to travel with than a standard laptop. The new Ultrabooks are cheap IMO in comparison.
The rest of the time I am doing anything work related, I am spending time in a Windows virtual machine basically going around the Mac OS.
The Mac OS is not better; its just different. In a corporate environment, it's a kludgy mess.

Agreed. No TOUCH not so good

Got my desktop computer with hd screen when Windows 8 came out. No Touch.
I operate email, ie, folders, paint shop, windows media, word, excel, all pinned to taskbar on desktop.
The START screen is made for touch devices. I've learned to enjoy some of the original apps and unpin others. Some new ones I found useless and some are awesome (all free in store). A lot of the apps are too simple and don't have enough features (PHOTO for ex).
No problems with email using outlook or Microsoft email. I synchronized the accounts to share and run from either START or desktop.
Had some compatibility issues on ie. I still don't have a printer. I had two with my old xp machine.
There's a few extra steps, but I get around. It's adequate.
The os is a Frankenstein. Thrown out on the market before it's maturity. It was time for something new to fill the coffers.
