Wily Korn

One name i heven't heard mentioned is Wily Korn. He has Clemson roots. Seems to be doing well at Coastal as a qb coach and co-offensive coordinator. Not saying Dabo will move on from Streeter. But if changes are made does anyone think we can lure Wily away?

Speaking of Coot. Shane Beamer recruited Byrnes well back in the day and they actually do need an OC. They are good friends, I hear.

Most folks really liked Willy Korn and had much better stats than DJ currently has put up - Dabo chased Willy off just like he's doing to Cade. Fyi, there's some unwritten requirement to post on this board - seems you have to have more posts than a woke 12-year old girl (insert pronoun of choice) has texts or they will attempt to "cancel culture" you and call you a coot. Pay them no mind.

It was a bowl game victory, not a national championship.

Where did you get that Korn put up better stats then DJ? Because Korn barely put up any numbers while here because of because of nagging injuries to the throwing shoulder.

Sure Willy Korn had less attempts than DJ, but once you're in a hole it's a lot harder to climb out of it. Sadly DJ's hole keeps caving in on him the longer and harder he tries - see the USC games stats (yikes!). It's doubtful that he can ever get his numbers up at this point in his career. DJ needs to transfer to a small division college and succeed like Willy. Also Willy has a much more likable personality and attitude - just saying. History repeating? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/67727-cullen-harper-benched-willy-korn-in-for-clemson-is-this-just-a-show

DJ was riding a bike the 2nd half of the worst loss in 8-years last week and stayed in the game. Sadly, the coaching staff seem to be paralyzed in their decision-making abilities.

He was for 1 game, Dabos first game as interim HC against GT. They knocked him out of the game before half time.

Anthony,
I have been touting Koren for a while now. Coastal Carolina's offense is wide-open, especially given the talent that they have. Would love to see what Korn could do with our talent.

I think we could likely get a better coordinator. Regardless, anything that Clemson could do to make up for the medical screw ups that occurred during his tenure might serve as some sort of redemption. A sliver of bone lodged next to a nerve after suffering a broken collarbone in his first game that took over two years to find and correct. Went from throwing 60 yards to a max of 15 yards during his Clemson tenure. To add to his misery a torn labrum while trying to play with the bone sliver still not detected. Redemption did finally occur when the bone sliver was finally removed allowing him to re-write the record books at NGC with the same arm motion that had been recaptured from his high school glory days. What a mess. He knows about adversity - no idea about his coaching skills.

Jamey Chadwell would be ideal...but he's not taking a OC job. Next best thing would be Korn. Though how much is Korn running that offense and how much was Chadwell? Who knows. But if Dabo ever did decide to bring in a new OC (which clearly he should have done last year) keep in mind it DOESN'T have to be a former Clemson player. Hiring former players from time to time is good, but it shouldn't be necessary. Clemson is a big enough brand that almost any position coaches across the country would love to come here. So get the best coach available who is willing to come I say. Imagine if we did that in recruiting. Only recruit players whos parents are Clemson alum. I don't think that would end well.
