I've always wanted to know who was the player that knocked AJ down as he was being congratulated by teammates. I've watched many times but can't catch the number.

Hard to believe the Tigers beat them so badly when they had Waddle, Devote Smith, and Jerry Jeudy. Excuse any names I got wrong. They were stacked.

We don't hear enough about that but Marcus saved our bacon a couple of times that season. I can't quite remember the other time, I think it was a blocked field goal attempt in another close game.

The loudest I had heard Death Valley at the time was James Trapp pick 6 against Charlie Ward and FSU in a night game in 92 I believe. FSU ended up winning the game and pretty much sunk our season from that point on.
Marcus Edmond definitely saved the season with his. AJ’s was big however I still believe we kick the crap out of Alabama either way.

I have three pick sixes that stand out in no certain order:
1) 1980 Willie Underwood 2) 1989 Wayne Simmons 3) 2018 AJ Terrell
All were huge plays. Probably Terrell, Underwood, Simmons in that order.

A couple of huge ones, both happened against the Chuckeyes.
May 31, 2022, 12:09 PM
|
|
First one, Stephone Anthony bailed out Tajh Boyd after HE had thrown a pick against Urbane Meyers Hot Dogs in the 2014 Orange Bowl. Tajh could easily have become a goat there, but Anthony returned the favor by picking off OSU right back.
https://youtu.be/XGFpcYxgB5s
The second one should rank WAY up there all time, and would rank even higher if we had not run into the buzz saw that was the Joe Burrow led LSU Tigers in the next game. Nolan Turner saves the semifinal game in 2019, again against Ohio State. The fact that the OSU receiver fell down made it easy, but did not lessen the importance of it.
https://youtu.be/_vHaG-IANHM
And, it won't make them feel any better about themselves, but, I do agree that OSU got hosed on that Justyn Ross "Fumble Scoop and Score, changed to an incomplete pass" play in 2019. I was baffled that it was overturned at the time, but we'll take it. We have had the foot be on the other shoe sometimes ourselves.

Two comments.
May 31, 2022, 1:10 PM
|
|
1) Any play that caused Urbane Oscar Meyer consternation is a more than worthwhile play.
2) Just in those few selected clips, especially that OSU long kickoff return, you get a feel for just how much SPEED there is in the modern college football game. That is why FSU dominated the ACC for so many years when they first joined the league. Nobody else had a match for their SPEED at the time.
