I don't know, but given that seemingly everyone wanted this guy it would surprise me if he wasn't given carte blanche to make decisions on the offensive side of the ball.

That does not mean that the coordinator has no influence over Dabo’s decision to keep or let go of certain coaches.

Since secretary input is so important around here, his first staff decision is trying to decide whether to bring his own or hire new...  He will deal with Grisham later.

You know nothing. WR play has been TERRIBLE since Scott left. Grisham’s WR can’t separate, catch, or block. He’s gotta go.

For me this is an odd question. I am not aware of any Coordinator being able to choose his staff in terms of firing guys and hiring his own staff. I know Morris and Venables did not bring guys with them and am not aware of any other coordinator who got to choose coaches especially when there is a staff in place. The hiring of assistants has always been up to the head coach so why would it be different in this instance? I would expect is Riley sees an issue with a specific coach Dabo would work to address the issue and if a job came open the coordinator would have input but the choice would belong to the HC.

Yes. Get away from your Grisham hate. The offensive scheme had more to do with it. If you have 3rd and 4 you don’t need to throw a 29 yard pass.
