I get the promotion, but not at least interviewing others is a complete disservice to the program. Dabo has never won anything that Venables was not part of. That makes me nervous. Dabo has got to stay with the aggressive blitz heavy scheme of Venables. The new Coordinator has to hold the recruiting class together. We are gonna lose a 2 or 3 defensive players. Tbat is a given.

What’s in place? A replacement? I would hope we’re going after the best and not settling on an internal promotion. I know people like to point to the Scott\Elliott promotion, but the program was in a much different point then where they could allow coaches to cut their teeth as coordinators. Seems too big a gamble to do the same on the defensive side of the ball.
