Our President makes $400K more than Barker,
He now has hired a #2,Man, whom we did not have before.
Our AD makes $400K more than TD.
We now have an Iptay CEO making what? $375K? We previously did not have this position.
We now have a Premium Seats Director?
It keeps on going.
We have more money than ever, but, it is not enough.
Get ready, here it comes ......

D-Rad's track record at Tech, is poor at best.
He has a new boss that has a "spend more" mentality?
So, who is watching "the ship".

The no 2 man? You mean the new provost? We have had an interim provost since Dorie Helms retired.
President Barker hired Dan Radakovich, who reports to President Clements.

Everything is going up, because it can...

Has nothing to do with the president or provost and everything to do with economics and greed. If you can charge more money and people will pay it (even though they ##### about it) then why not? And the mentality and unfortunate reality that to be the best (facilities/program wise) this is what it takes.
Is it the same people that can afford it as the previous years, probably not. But deeper pockets and corporations will always be paying in good times and those of us unwilling to lose our precious iptay 'status' get dragged along.
Premium seating will pay for itself over a very short time, but only if we keep winning and getting top recruits. Which also means paying premium for salaries and facilities. This thing called supply and demand + greed enables this. Boxes start out around 75k now then adjust upward for sightline and other stuff. Catering costs going up. Everything going up, because it can...
Wanna see ticket prices go down? Stop selling out. Have a ###### program. Until then, it's pony up or stay at home.
Trust me, I hate it just as much as the next guy, loyalty means little. Big dollars mean everything. Keeping up with the jones' can be tough in times like these.

And they are funded with all different pots of money, the small and most infrequent pot is state money. There just isn't any to go around.
Interesting stat, over 25% of staff are in a temporary type of status, using time limited funds or funds tied specifically to funded projects/grants

Good points, but don't look at Alabama's hiring of Saban and paying him an amazing amount of money. The reason: Bama MADE MONEY because more tickets sold, etc. They made a small fortune form that hire - even though it cost them more than any other coach in the country. Yeh - hard to figure that out, but they have facts to back that hire up.
I don't keep up with that, so no link, but you could probably contact any Bama fan and they would provide whatever link you needed to buy that concept.
