Why wouldn't Zerrick

Consider transferring to Arkansas. Wasn't Chad the one who was recruiting him so heavily. I know he'd have to sit a year, but he'd more than likely be one of the top QB's in the SEC his last two years.

He could go down to a smaller school,

like Jackson State, get them to their playoffs next year then still go to a place like Arkansas ,with 2 years still left to play. The work next season would do him better than sitting.

Because you cannot do that...

NCAA regulations stipulate that a division 1 athlete can transfer to division 2 or 3 school and play immediately, but they have to wait a year transferring into a Division 1 school. So, he could transfer to Furman and play immediately, but the transfer back to a Division 1 after the season would require him to sit out a year. The only exceptions are with Junior colleges. So he could go to a Junior college for one year then be eligible to play for division 1 after that year. If he wanted to go this route, that is what I would do. Chad Kelley followed this exact same strategy when he was fired. East Miss. State Comm. College => Ole Miss.

Unless they've changed the rules...

you can only play for 2 NCAA schools. So even if you got the 1-AA route and he actually plays then he can no longer transfer to any NCAA at that point....only Juco (never to come back to NCAA) or NAIA.

You can go to multiple NCAA schools but can only actually play in a game at 2 schools.

Just wondering how you know he is not considering Arkansas? JSU could be his first visit if many.
