How many of you completely avoided TNet during the first half of the Fiesta Bowl?

Jan 2, 2020, 11:06 AM

How many wish you had avoided TNet?

I did not want to let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

I admit that there was one meltdown at my house....but that was the norm.

I completely avoided SOBRIETY***

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

That was a good plan!

Jan 2, 2020, 11:17 AM

??

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seemed like it at the time. The next day it was the worst plan ever

Jan 2, 2020, 12:10 PM

Again..

I avoid T-Net completely during any sporting event.

I feel it's best to wait until the artist has completed the work before commenting on anything.

With rare exceptions, I go 100% radio silent during games

Jan 2, 2020, 11:18 AM

I may sneak on during halftime, maybe occasionally during a commercial break, but see little to no value in reading TigerNet during a game

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

In a blow out, sometimes TNet is fun to watch..

Jan 2, 2020, 11:20 AM

For me, I mostly look for injury updates.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I never Tnet during a ball game and seldom log on that day.

Jan 2, 2020, 11:18 AM

The post move so quickly and everyone is posting to be noticed so a conversation is impossible. I quit back when we were losing games.

Sitting in the stadium, I won't say I didn't get frustrated

Jan 2, 2020, 11:19 AM

but at no point did I ever think Clemson was going to lose the game.

My oldest daughter was sitting beside me and I told her, "Take it to the bank, we're going to comeback and win this game.".

Sorry...no pigs of oldest daughter.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I was calm the entire game until the last min and 49 seconds

Jan 2, 2020, 11:21 AM

At that point a was freaked out. Way too much time.

Neighbors on one side are all Ohio State grads. Their son is going there now. Neighbors on the other side are all coots. They got together to watch the game around the fire pit. We of course were not invited to ensure the safety of all party attendees.

1st quarter and most of the 2nd quarter they were all having a great time. Yelling, screaming, and comments thrown around. I had to shut the door to the porch so I could keep my sanity and I could still hear them.

My house exploded just before half time. My wife had just opened the door to let the dog out when Trevor took off on his 70 yard run and the neighbors heard the explosion. Final explosion occurred when Turner intercepted the pass in the endzone. At that time the party goers next door packed up all their crap and went home.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I bet they did pack up!

Jan 2, 2020, 11:24 AM

Go Tigers.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do sneak a look

Jan 2, 2020, 11:54 AM

At Tigernet when, on the rare occasion I am watching on tv rather than beingAT the game, because I like to see how the “fans” react if the Tigers happen to get behind. It’s always interesting to see who the real coaches are!

Speaking of packing up. You should have seen the OSU fans leave the stadium. Pass was intercepted and poof they were gone.

Wish I had been there!

Some advice: unless you just love stupid people, Never. Ever. Sign on during a game. You’re welcome.

I avoid TNet during the game completely!

Not until after the game. I'll text some with my son and grandson during the game but that's about it.

Games are serious stuff. I text with the family spread all over the country sparingly but they know when I go black not to bother me. I can't concentrate on a phone and coach at the same time.

I avoid social media, texts, heck my phone in general when watching games. I stream all the games unless watching OTA on antenna so there is a slight delay from real time. I don't want good or bad news before it happens on my screen lol

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ha! I have that trouble too.

Jan 2, 2020, 1:22 PM

My Mom will text me about a TD before I have seen it. I tell them to wait 30 seconds!

Re: Ha! I have that trouble too.

Jan 2, 2020, 4:50 PM

I went to the Natty in Tampa in 2016 and did not have tickets, so a bunch of us watched on big screens in the RV lot. It took me the whole game to figure out that the fireworks were going off in the stadium before we saw the TD on the TV.

On the last TD to Renfro everyone started cheering early and I was screaming at them to shut up so I could see the play. It finally dawned on me why they were already celebrating.

I MAY have had a bit to drink that night,

Humble Brag: I tried to pick everyone up on TNET

Jan 2, 2020, 1:27 PM

this was around the middle of the second quarter, right before we took possession on our first scoring drive!

The meltdown was rediculous here and I thought TNET people needed a calming presence here in the huddle.

Re: Humble Brag: I tried to pick everyone up on TNET

Jan 2, 2020, 4:56 PM

I know no one will believe this but I was watching the game in a bar downtown with a couple I had just met from Hilton Head who came all of the way up just to watch the game in Clemson.

When we got the kickoff after they went up 16 - 0, there were about 4 minutes left in the half.
I told them to watch, we were going to come down quickly and score - then get a three and out - and get more points just before the half.

We had done that three or four times in the last year or two (although not in such dire circumstances). Sure enough just like I called it. They both just shook their heads at me and the dude bought me a drink. After that, I felt sure we were going to win it.

You don't have to believe me - I know that it happened just that way.

Re: How many of you completely avoided TNet during the first half of the Fiesta Bowl?

Jan 2, 2020, 1:46 PM

To be honest, I don't want to talk to anyone when I am watching an important Clemson football game; somehow, I think it will bring bad luck.

Also, I want to be totally focused on willing our side to win while the game is going on and I want to avoid all negativity (people not have happy with our play calling, with individual players etc.) during the game.

So Tigernet is completely avoided during football and basketball games or at least until the game is in doubt. It is a different story AFTER we win.

:)

be on Tigernet during a Clemson football game?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Kinda fun during a blow out.

Jan 2, 2020, 3:01 PM

Least I think so.

Re: How many of you completely avoided TNet during the first half of the Fiesta Bowl?

Jan 2, 2020, 4:45 PM

I was at the game 11 rows behind the Clemson bench. I was concerned and started having flashbacks to the Sugar Bowl two years ago, but then I thought about how quickly our offense could get back into the game and how BV was a master at making defensive adjustments. The low point by far was when TL went down after the targeting call, but then I saw the anger and determination in his eyes when he walked off the field and I knew then that we would start fighting back. This team is resilient!

100%, didn’t look. It’s the same thing every game. We can be playing Wofford, if the first play is a 2yd run people freak out and it’s a thread with 45 posts.

I try to stay off during football games. Idiots tend to rule the board during games. After the game they come in here and apologize for their rude posts.
