Why would ANY school sign such a long term agreement?

Signed in 2013 and not to end until 2036, a 23 year agreement. In my opinion it was it showed total incompetence on the Clemson administration and all others who signed who held the power in the conference.

The Notre Dame media rights for all sports minus football is an afterthought.

As any civil attorney will tell you , myself included , any contract can be broken. BUT, the big factor is how much will it cost you to break it, and will it be worth it. In the case of Clemson SIGNING their rights away until 2036 , as an attorney my self , it will be very costly to get out of the contractual obligations of the acc. But IT WILL be worth it imo , BECAUSE OF THE MONEY joining either sec or big 10 will bring to the table. Obviously , for many reasons , Clemson will be much better off in the sec , if offered to join, from a geographical footprint , money, and travel to name just a few.
