For my fellow music lovers.

Jul 18, 2021, 8:55 AM

I’m a huge Steely Dan fan and stumbled across this and thought it was great.

I’m not going to comment any further because I don’t want to spoil the surprise at the end. But your eyes are going to make your brain tell you one thing, but at the end your mind is going to be blown!

This makes me proud to be an American! For you far left Looney Tunes this is one of the reasons America is the greatest country in the world! People around the world want to come to America! America is the least racist country in the world. Freedom democracy capitalism are influencing, enriching, and inspire people around the world!

I saw a book presentation on C-SPAN‘s book TV about five years ago explaining how American culture and American music helped bring down the Soviet union. Radio free America in Europe was huge in helping bring down the Soviet union. Things like Levi’s jeans and Coke were a huge part of the black market for American products in East Germany and the Soviet union. They craved anything and everything American! Because America meant freedom to them! Now the Democrats and the people on the far left are trying to tear this country down because they’ve never spent five minutes in another country that has seen real oppression from socialism and communism!

You realize they still live in Russia?

Great band surprised you’re just now hearing about them.

Jul 18, 2021, 12:41 PM

Yes. I understand they are in Russia. Moscow is in Russia right?

Why would I know about them? They’re not on the radio and they’re not on TV. Unless someone pointed them out or unless you stumble across them like I did on YouTube why would I know anything about them?

Thanks for sharing this group with us . . .

Jul 18, 2021, 9:38 AM

I’ve been watching YouTube for a couple of years now . . . Never heard of this crowd of talented musicians!!!

They are definitely worth the “listen” and I’ll catch more of them in the days to come!!!
Thanks again!!!

Re: Thanks for sharing this group with us . . .

Jul 18, 2021, 9:49 AM

You are more than welcome. When I saw that first video the whole time I’m thinking they must be in Pennsylvania or Ohio because of the shirts and hats that a lot of them were wearing. One guy was even wearing a Browning T-shirt. So you definitely think the Midwest. Then at the end you realize they are all Russian and this is in Moscow.

In their other videos they wear different college shirts different professional sports teams shirts often many of them are wearing T-shirts with American flags, etc.

And that chic, she’s not just hot. She sings lead vocals on some of their songs and she is incredible!

From that first video I thought Leonid was the piano player. But he’s the guy on bass. He’s the one that created and started this little collaboration.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Have you seen this?

Jul 18, 2021, 10:00 AM [ in reply to Thanks for sharing this group with us . . . ]

This is amazing and they now do concerts all over Europe. There are more videos on YouTube of them as well.

But this video was their first adventure. At the end when the guy talks about started this, why he did this. It’s sad because it makes you realize how even a country like Italy provides so little opportunity for people, especially young people. I know a few Italians here in Charleston. One of them comes from a family that has money, but even what would be considered upper middle class find it hard there because of the corruption and because of their screwed up economy. Again, it makes me proud to be an American! And it underscores just how wrong people on the far left are trying to tear this country down. And an even bigger indictment on the main stream media and the Democrats for facilitating this nonsense! But of course it’s all about power and money!

Big Steely Dan fan. Dan and Pink Floyd may be the most technically proficient perfectionists in rock n' roll history and the horn section, just like the sax in Floyd music, is bad a$$. This cover was flawless. +1 for backup singers!

Only hard-core fans of that song actually know what it’s about. Very few people even understand the title.

It’s 3:25 or 3:26 am, should we do another line of coke?!

Sheryl crow once stupidly called Chicago everything wrong with rock music. She called them a corporate band. You can say what you want about what they evolved into in the late 70s and early 80s. They clearly became a soft rock, yacht rock band. But the first two or three albums were serious rock ‘n’ roll! Jimi Hendrix saw them play at whiskey a gogo and he was blown away by Terry Kath and said Kath was a better guitar player!

They kill this!

and they put on a great show. Love their old stuff an lot, but even the newer stuff was good live. Finished up the encore with 25 or 6 to 4.

Jul 18, 2021, 11:07 AM [ in reply to Re: yep, they nail every note perfectly on that... I discovered ]

a gun and killed himself. Chicago lost their hard rock edge when he died and morphed into more of a softer, love-song band. Still quality music, but not like their early stuff. And if you haven't seen this, you need to... 25 or 6 to 4 live in 1970. This is my comment on YouTube about his solo starting around 3:00... "Terry Kath is consumed by the Rock-n-Roll Holy Spirit, and his strat starts speaking in tongues."

Kath was amazing!

Jul 18, 2021, 11:16 AM

Chicago actually started moving in that direction before Kath left. That’s actually why he was leaving because he didn’t like the direction the band was going with the music. He was working on a solo album at the time of his tragic death.

Have you seen this incredible documentary by his daughter? She never knew him because she was just a baby when he died. I think she was like less than two years old.

Jul 18, 2021, 12:53 PM

She has no talent? Can you sing and play piano like she can?

Twit?

You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but I have no idea why you would want to randomly insult someone that clearly has talent.

I can understand if someone didn’t like her singing style in some songs, but go watch the video of her playing the piano and singing and tell me that girl doesn’t have talent!

Re: Excuse me?

Jul 18, 2021, 1:02 PM

I was referring to Cheryl Crow above being not talented and not the Leonid and friends singer Ksenia Buzina. I think KB is tremendously talented. As for CC I said what I said and stand by every word of it.

Re: Excuse me?

Jul 18, 2021, 1:26 PM

Lol!

Thank you for clarifying!

I agree 100%!

Sheryl crow is not very popular in some music circles. Her old band mates from “Tuesday Night Music Club” claim she stole their recordings and used them to get her record deal and initially did not give them credit for being the co-writers of most of the songs on her debut album.

Just in case that was not sarcasm … You do understand he’s Russian? In another video he’s wearing an Oregon T-shirt. They wear a lot of clothing, T-shirts and hats, with American flags, American sports teams, etc. They have toured America on a few occasions.
