Why Oklahoma Does Not Impress Me

Looking at that program's last 10 games against ranked opponents, I'm not convinced this is a loss for Clemson.
Losses to TCU, Baylor twice..
They have, however, beaten N.D., TTech, OkSt, and Mighty 'Bama, 'tho that was in a meaningless bowl game for 'Bama.
Now, it is apparent that by perusing this message board the upcoming bowl vs. Los Sooners is virtually meaningless.
However, I just want to remind Clemson Tiger Football Nation that this is a glorious opportunity to up-stage one of the more successful football programs with proud tradition.
& play Watson so Clemson can beat Oklahoma by three touchdowns!!
#ALLIN4CU!!

Sounds alot like Clemson's record....

Clemson is a mere 3 - 7 in its last 10 games against ranked opponents.
If you go back to the last sixteen games, Clemson's record improves to 7 - 9
Clemson is 8 - 12 over the last 20 games against ranked opponents.
This is an area where Dabo absolutely must show improvement.

They did give up a good bit of points, 25ppg. They rely heavily on there run game, very one dimensional. So in some way our offenses are a lot alike right now with the backup QB's not having much success. If our D locks down there run game, we should be able to win a low scoring battle. They did avg 38 ppg in a conf where D isn't a priority, but even Baylor held them to 14 pts.

What I noticed was the highest rated defense they faced this

year was Texas at #30.
They barely beat Texas, but the Ok offense only scored 2 TD's....they got other scores on pick 6, and kickoff returns, etc.
Their 2 TD's were one passing and one running by both of their hurt starters.
They rushed 30 times for 103 yards....and I thought that was a big tell.
They do have 3 O Linemen that will be in the NFL.... If our NFL defense gets the best of them, we will win this.
If our O can cut out half of the 3 and outs, I think we win by 10-13 .

OK fans tend to feel the same way, they don't appear to have much faith in their team right now. Not to mention their star RB had a high ankle sprain against OK St, so he may not be 100% even if he plays.

Dabo tends to have success when given plenty of time to prepare for a game, so I'm thinking that it may come down to the 4th quarter like the Georgia game.
Fortunately I don't think the Sooners have been blessed with that caliber of a running game, so I'm thinking no blow-out.
However, Cole Stoudt's not really gonna get it done.
I say blitz the secondary on every down.
Cornerbacks on 1st & 3rd, safeties on 2nd & 4th.
Then switch the next drive then switch downs & so on.
Only way Clemson wins with Stoudt at the helm is with flawless special teams & a strong run defense with no penalties in teh pass defense.

& don't forget they were ranked as high as #15 before a brutal stretch of 5 ranked opponents in 6 weeks with the only unranked team being Texas.
Big 12 is weird; small but loaded.
