We have a coach for two more years and Tree

will be 64 then. That's probably too old to start a college head coaching career.

How about Dale Davis or Horace Grant?***

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?
• Boss

How about we hire someone with significant coaching experience?

The fact that they played at Clemson and in the NBA means little when it comes to running a program, recruiting, and coaching.

Why?!?

Kids today have no idea who he is. Yes, he played in the NBA for many years and was also an NBA assistant, but he's in his 60s. A little old to make his college coaching debut, don't you think?

Plus, he is a nice guy, but he is far from the dynamic, enthusiastic, Dabo-seque coach many of you seem to want.

Tree is nearing retirement age, probably too late for him.

He needed to get squared away qith his college degree 30 years ago so that he would have been a legitimate candidate for a college coaching job while he was in his prime.

Most don't expect to get their first head coaching job a 62 ...

folks our program does not need a rookie

Apr 3, 2017, 8:47 PM

Coach with no collegiate experience

We need YOUNG
We need a professional who is very familiar with invigorating a program
We need a top notch recruiter
We need HUMBLE
We need someone who WANTS to coach at CLEMSON
We need a student of the game
We need MIRACLES

So probably a leprechaun too!

Tree played at Clemson 40 years ago. No prospects today would have a clue who he is. Greg Buckner is the only Clemson alumnus who has played in the NBA and would be young enough to relate with the kids today. His lack of college coaching experience would be a liability. Maybe an assistant coach at Clemson? If there is a change in the future, Drad will be under pressure to hire an experienced college coach.
