Why is it so hard to get a Jeff Scott type for

Mar 12, 2015, 1:42 PM

basketball?

Yeah, it would be nice to have new facilities. But I think for the most part, people attract people. Brian Gregory has brand new digs in Atlanta and hasn't done squat. Heck, by the time anybody being recruited now actually sniffs the court much, he'll be playing in the new LJ anyway.

Part of our collective frustration is we still don't know what to make of BB after all this while. We still have a hunch maybe he can coach, but it is still just a very frustrating hunch. And, he's losing the hunchers each year.

What we do know is this. He can't recruit. Just seeing the guy on TV, I can tell he's not a closer. Hire a Jeff Scott for BB, and don't tell me there's not one out there. Nothing good will happen until that happens.

I'm sure UK football is asking the same question***

He closed Grantham and Hudson in the last 2 classes

both were highly sought after prospects. Grantham probably had the most impressive offer list of any recruit in modern Clemson history, so...there is that.

Who?

Just by looking at him

you could tell the he wasn't a 40 something year old woman? You could tell he wasn't married to Kevin Bacon? Your powers of deduction are very impressive.

We had two really good assistants/recruiters

Mar 12, 2015, 2:04 PM

One is the head coach at Miss St. and the other is the head coach at College of Charleston, so it's not like Brad can't pick out some decent assistants. His problem seems to be that they keep moving on to head coaching jobs.
