Why don't we recruit for everything?

Why does it have to be about priorities?

What's your question?

What do you mean what's my question? Everyone keeps saying next year recruiting X is a top priority. Why do we have priorities? Isn't that what got us into depth trouble in the first place? By not making everything a priority every year? Didn't think I'd had to break my post into syllables for it to be understood.

You have a limited number of scholarships. You do not sign every position every year.

Give it a few years. You'll come around like the rest of us.

He's right...seems like every year we are strong in certain areas but not across the board, which always seems to hurt us. We need to be more consistent in recruiting a "team" every year.

Players so regularly leaving early for the NFL makes it more difficult to maintain that perfect balance.

good one!!

injuries and transfers also play a role

Oct 6, 2014, 12:08 AM [ in reply to Re: Hey Freshman ]

we've lost 3 olinemen to injury in the past year and possibly our 2 best RBs are currently injured

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

We do. They just don't always pan out as planned.

Look at this year as an example. QB, OL, WR, DL, DE, LB, DB. We uusually always recruit widely. But they just don't always work out whether it's lack of development, early exit, or unforeseen circumstances.

Dabo likes to mass recruit

Certain positions in one cycle and let the best players win the job. Look at this year it's all about DL and OL. Last year it was Wr and RB. The year before it was CB. Think this is how Bama recruits.
