Why didn't

Jan 20, 2022, 1:58 PM

Russia send 100,000 troops to the Ukraine border when Trump was President? Given that Trump was working for the Russians, it seems like that would have been the time.

Can’t wait for their rationalization on this.

Hardly.

Putin is a former KGB agent who was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany who recruited insurgents for the Red Army Faction and Red Brigades to destabilize Europe. That's how he thinks. He doesn't take you on straight to your face, he comes at you sideways, sows division and chaos among his enemies.

Trump was his perfect American president. Not just under control due to the fact that Trump owed him a billion dollars - that was obvious - but Trump was magnificently disruptive, and was doing a fine job pouring gasoline all over America's own divisions and setting them aflame. He was also doing a wonderful job dismantling NATO and destroying America's alliances all on his own. Oh, and Trump also backed America out of the Paris Climate Accords, allowing Putin to do the same - keep in mind Russia's main export by a mile is oil - and also a whole bunch of nuclear arms treaties that negates our edge in technology by allowing them to lean on their edge in warheads.

You think Putin wanted him to stop? Trump was doing Putin's work for him every day he was in office. If he had gotten militaristic against Europe while Trump was in office, it would have forced Trump to close ranks against him.

Now he's got the ability to humble Biden and the West and flex, and of course he's going to take it.

Why Trump have done anything to stop it? Especially since he owed Putin so much money? Why would Trump all of a sudden stop doing Putin's bidding because he had troops at the border of Ukraine.

Why would Trump have done anything to stop it?

Because he would have had to. The NATO treaty is pretty clear. An attack on one is an attack on all.

If Putin rips off another chunk of Ukraine it would have absolutely alarmed Ukraine's neighbors. If Trump does nothing, it becomes abundantly obvious Trump's in Russia's pocket.

Keep in mind a few bits of territory in Ukraine is nothing, in terms of geopolitics. Putin's not going to invade the West, he doesn't have nearly the armed forces the old Red Army did.

What he is interested in doing is using his military to flex, both to project strength at home and abroad. And incidentally, he'd love to embarrass Biden and unsettle the Western order we dominate.

Of course he wants Trump back.

I don't know. That sounds more like something that would come out of a novel than something that would happen in real life.

This would also seem to be something out of a novel vs real life. Just saying.

... so how does part 2 go from here with Biden owing to China for all the millions they gave Hunter for the Cobalt mines?

Hunter was running around the world getting golden handshakes from anybody who'd line his pockets. There is absolutely zero evidence dad was involved, and Hunter's not within a mile of 1600 Pennsylvania.

Mind, I still wish Joe himself wasn't within a mile of 1600 Pennsylvania either, mostly because he's clearly not up to the job.

One thing we know is Trump wouldn't have wanted to do anything about it. He liked Putin. It would be quagmire anyway. That said, Biden isn't really going to do much about it either. There will just be sanctions and arms to Ukraine.

I could definitely be wrong, but I don't think Putin is going to invade. I think he is amassing troops there during the winter (because of his control over European heat) to have leverage to try to stop Ukraine from joining NATO.

Russian economy is oil.

Trump made the US an oil exporter. Trump demanded that Germany start buying natural gas from us, instead of Russia. Trump put sanctions on Russian pipeline construction. Trump lifted bans on future oil production. Trump ok’d keystone.

Biden stopped all new domestic oil production. Stopped the keystone, lifted sanctions on the Russian pipeline and then allows other UN countries to fund Russia’s economy while we protect them from Russia.

And the idiots on P&R still call Trump a Russian asset.

Russia is now our #2 foreign supplier of oil, supplanting Mexico. I guess this is part of the master plan to inhibit further Mexican illegals from crossing our border?
