Why are we doing this?

This is getting flat out ridiculous. We are so much better than this. To post an 18 year old kid's facebook page, phone number, address, and threaten him and his loved ones in any way is flat out unacceptable. We currently have a poll on here asking if his girlfriend is going to break up with him which turned into a conversation of whether or not she will accept him after an adjustment to one of his digestive parts. His dad is a man of faith and just lost his church to a fire. I cannot comprehend how anyone could be so angry at a person that did not hurt them or their loved ones in any way.
I, like all Clemson fans was pretty upset by the news of "The Chip". The fact that our security system around Clemosn's most precious possession was made out of plastic was pretty infuriating. The witch hunt we directed towards UGA and SC fans made us look really bad. The point we are at now is just totally on another level.
This kid needs to be treated like any 18 year old Clemson student and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law by the CUPD. I think he deserves a felony for what he did, basically comparing into to breaking into a museum and damaging a historical, irreplaceable artifact. However, we must let the law do what it is designed to do and decide what is fair punishment. At the end of the day the Clemson nation is not a gang of thugs and rapists that want to do terrible things to an young kid and his family so STOP acting like it.

Wrong, a mistake is hitting somebody in the rear end while driving. He made a DECISION to do this. Tired of hearing that crap that people make mistakes. No, most of the time they chose to do wrong.

I suppose this kid is at least smart enough to regret his bad decision after he was caught. You seem to revel in you bad decision making. Enjoy screaming for C@cks this Fall.

And some stop to think why our FB & BB teams get their aces handed to them when the other team gets physical. Things have really changed over the last few years and not for the better, but with Dabo things are about to There is 2 parts to turning the other cheek, its an eye for an eye having it only 1 way does not work, knowing when to use which one is the key. If you do not like this kind of talk or reaction that's fine but to cry and whine because others do is beyond my comprehension

makes me sick to my stomach. Has anyone ever even THOUGHT of breaking or stealing Howard's Rock in the almost 50 years of its existence?? And yes, I'm even including opposing team's fans.
This "kid" did. He planned it out (with others who will eventually get caught), carried out the deed, and did NOT turn himself in or fess up to it yet OR turn in the broken piece. The deranged, selfish idiot got caught and now you guys feel sorry for him? He is deserving of all hostility.

"In the days leading up to that 1992 game at Death Valley, a few rogue Gamecocks fans broke into the stadium and attempted to steal Howard's Rock atop the Hill. They were not successful, but they left the exterior of the rock damaged." from Classic Clashes of the Carolina-Clemson Football Rivalry: A State of Disunion, by Larry Williams and Travis Haney

it will be time to to stop when he makes a full and complete confession, returns the missing pieces of the rock and does a complete restoring of the rock..then it is time for talk!!as for his family, they are the ones that have expressed no remorse, have not asked for forgiveness.. all they want to do is FIGHT!! whatever happens to them is just what they have asked for IMHO

"Clemosn's most precious possession" REALLY? Ignoring your incorrect spelling of Clemson, I suppose that Thomas G.Clemson's will, John C. Calhoun's home, Tillman Hall, etc. just aren't in the same league as The Rock. And for those who claim it is Clemson's top symbol, I guess we can do away with the tiger paw.

The kid destroyed a part of Frank Howard's legacy at Clemson

I know Frank Howard's legacy at Clemson is bigger than his rock, but I think we all have so much respect for what Howard did for the university and for the football program that we want to see this kid held accountable for his actions.

I'm right there with you Penguin. I've always thought you could only embarrass yourself, but some of the comments I've read convince me I have been wrong about that because I'm embarrassed by them.

He made a decision now he can live with the consequences. That's part of the deal. You break the law you should be publicly humiliated. I'm not saying shoot the kid or cause him any physical harm, but he should get cussed, threatened and humiliated for what he did. Like I said he didn't make a mistake he made a decision.

like this will think twice about it. Sure, I hate it for his family. But unfortunately, they're part of the collateral damage he's done.
I'm with the others who are sick of calling this a "mistake." This was 100% planned and premeditated.

behavior? Now come down off your high-horse.
We all felt pain learning that a big chunk of Howard's Rock was broken and stolen. If you want to forgive and forget that's your prerogative. If someone want to see the kid suffer that's their prerogative.
It's America, many died so that we can be racist, homophobes and hoarmongers so why can we not also be vindictive?

I'm pretty sure after all this is over for him, he'll have learned a lesson that can't really be taught. I doubt he'll ever screw up again, and I don't feel sorry for him having to learn it this way, one bit.
