if Tiger can't catch Jack, no one ever will.
I also don't know if anyone will get close to 7 to catch TB12, but seems do able if an organization gets hot, then the QB gets traded, etc.
18 majors just seems way more astronomical to me in this day and age.

I'd put it in the same category as golf.

Anything that requires physical input and makes people feel somewhat athleticy is now considered a sport...
Ax throwing, cheerleading, running, riding a bicycle, insert any crossfit exercise you want, riding in a boat, LARPing, flying drones, even video games are now considered sports by many people. Some people have babies with random people as a sport.
Don't be a gatekeeper...

with no rope. A one-off, I know, but hory sheet. That guy stared death in the teeth and pulled off an impossible athletic feat.
And like me, you might be pressed to wonder how you're supposed to poop while climbing 3000' above the nearest toilet. Apparently climbers will use a grocery bag, and haul it with them in a contraption called a "poop tube," so as not to do business on anybody down on terra firma.

Also some others worth discussing

Phelps - idk enough about swimming to comment, but he dominated across multiple events. 23 gold medals, with 28 medals total? Second place is 9 gold medals?! LOL...he might be up there for a while
idk anyone in soccer? maybe our scokker bros can chime in
basketball seems to be a toss up, and I don't really care about it at all, so imma say Jordan.
Federer / Nadal coming down to the wire. Serena on the women's side for sure.
Anyone think Cy Young's record will ever get broken? Pete Rose hits record? Problem is they don't have the championships to back it up.
TB12, Jack are for sure in this category and more on par with Phelps as the goatest goats, IMO. If I knew enough about basketball, I'd put Jordan in here.
Honorable mentions: Lance Armstrong - pre-steroids, I thought he would go down as the GOAT. Obviously this nixed that, but still like to bring it up.
Shaun White in snowboarding
Tony Hawk in skateboarding
Didn't Jimmy Johnson dominate neck car? Did he surpass the King?
Ricky Carmichael was one of the baddest ### dirt bike riders I've ever seen. Not a popular sport, but he's definitely at the top.

hadn't went to the new format. I can't recall the year, but there were at least two years he would not have won. Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart had two years all but sowed up when they revamped the points for the 10 race format. JJ was great, I give him that, but no one tops Dale Earnhardt. Just my two cents.

old enjoys it. Ryan Blaney is his man. We go to at least one race/year (Darlington). Great father/son time.
I'm not a fan of the stages at all. They shouldn't count the laps but do. Went to a truck race and 10% of the laps were ran under the caution between the stages.

when I was growing up, my great aunt had an oddball goat named Spud. Nothing really remarkable about Spud, other than the fact he'd shid in the same place at the side of the barn nearly every time. If you've ever seen goat poop, it's kinda like a pile of milk duds...so ol' Spud would wander over to his favorite side of the barn and cut loose on this ever-growing pile of milk duds. Before I knew of his odd poop stacking habit, my first thought when I saw him do it was, "How in the heck did all that come out of that one goat?"
Lulz...kids are dumb.
As to the real question, I'm inclined to agree with you about Jack.

by the sport. And yes guys golf is a sport!
Golf you have Jack. Eldrick is close. We'll never know because of injuries and not keeping his zipper closed.
Football yeah Brady is awesome. Jim Brown says hello.
NBA hard to argue with josephg® mention of Bill Russell.
F1 and sorry ATL PAW MAN® Obed® will agree it's Michael Schumacher.
Futbol I'll go Pele.
Tennis it's Federer for men. But don't sleep on my girl Serena she's in the conversation.
This is what makes sports great. We could debate on this all day.

except International Success at an arguably better national team than Penaldo.
JK, on Penaldo, I like Christiano better than Messi, but I wasn't into EPL when he played for ManU or I might actually hate him.
But give me Zlatan just for the lulz.

Not knocking the accomplishment, but he's a clay court specialist.....one of the all time greats though.

an individual sport. I'm so tired of the talking heads saying "MJ won 6 rings and if Lebron can win 7 he's the GOAT" and all that crap. Like they did it alone. No... they were a member of a team that won a championship. A great TEAM. That doesn't necessarily translate to individual greatness. For example, Bradshaw has 4 Super Bowl rings, and Marino has none. But who was the better QB? Marino. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday...
Or... what if Jordan never won a title? Say, Pippen tore up a knee, was never the same, and the Bulls didn't make any moves to improve the roster. MJ carried the team and had a great career, maybe went deep in the playoffs a couple times, but never won it all. Would it matter? #### no, that's nuts. He'd still be the best basketball player I've ever seen. BTW, you swap out Russell for Wilt, and Wilt has 11 rings... the Celtics were the best team in that era by far.
And before I get off my soap box... "rings" are getting cheaper by the day. Players like Lebron chase them and pull strings to create championship teams. Can you imagine Bird calling up Magic and saying - "Hey, let's you and me and Olajuwon all get together in (pick a city) and win some rings". No. Freaking. Way. Players were wired differently back then, they were loyal to their franchise and city. Bird pisses green to this day.
