Who will be the biggest impact freshmen this year?

Red shirt or True
Contenders:
1. KJ Henry - Has the size now to go with the speed 2. Jaelyn Lay - Needs to be the tight end that can make plays 3. Tyler Davis - Had a tremendous spring from all accounts 4. Joseph Ngata - Will get plenty of opportunities 5. Frank Ladson - ditto 6. Andrew Booth - 5 star, how fast can he earn the coaches trust 7. Mike Jones Jr. - position of need 8. Jake Venables - ditto

I've heard Mike Jones has put in the work and will be a beast, but considering the depth at DT i'm going to go with Tyler Davis (baby Dex)

If true frosh is the deal, then Davis. No other true frosh will have a major impact imo.

I think Jaelyn has to make and impact. Chalk can't play all of the time. Probably Allen too. KJ will still be a freshman and I think he will play crunch time minutes, maybe even start.

I'd say, Jackson Carmen.
I know he is not listed but he didn't play much and will fill the void left by Hyatt.

Sheridan Jones will makes things interesting, Tyler Davis will see the field a lot, and I have Lannen Zanders sneaking onto the depth Chart. He should be a pleasant surprise .

I believe Sanders will redshirt so I am going with lay at tight end, becasue he will have to play a lot this year. I also think Henry comes up big for us.

Put TE Davis Allen on the list of possibilities. He's a good athlete and we need a TE. At 6'5" 240 lbs, he just might be a hit if he can learn the playbook fast enough.

No doubt it has to be Lay, or will have to

4 wideouts, because we have no other option at TE. Davis will be our 4th or 5th DT, the coaches rest our starting DT’s during the spring.

I’m gonna say ladson. Normally I would be focused on Positions if need but the numbers at WR aren’t all that high (talent is off the charts but they are actually under the target number) and when you have Lawrence throwing and a lot of 4 and 5 wide sets, it opens up the possibility.
Tyler Davis is provably my next pick. Lay has more opportunity than anyone at TE, with Davis probably a close second, but I think Lay May need a year to blossom as TE is very difficult in our system. A CB would of been an attractive pick before the emergence of Kendrick, I think the depth as S hurts those guys chances. LB needs a couple guys to step up the problem is determining which it will be.

I think KJ is going to shine. Xavier will be getting double teams all year.
But we really need Tyler Davis to have a Dex-fresh type year.

KJ Henry. It may take a few games for him to ramp up. He should be a major impact player by playoff time.
2nd choice is Ladson. In the Spring game, he looked like a veteran. He should be productive early in the season and grow from there.

I think KJ Henry will have the biggest overall impact, but I think that Booth will have the biggest impact come playoff time when it is most important. I think that he is going to be a beast once he has a grasp of the defense.
