believe in many cases it's more provocation than prevention.

The list of US-instigated coups on behalf of the World Bank, the IMF, and major corporations is a long one. It's beyond "in check".

However, considering this current administration that's leading Biden around by his nose ring, I'd probably reconsider.

Who is leading him around?

Feb 27, 2023, 11:44 AM

Nobody seems to ever answer this question, and it sounds like it should be easy enough to say who it is.

You can do your own research as to who controls this...

Is that like an “Obummer” or a “tRUMP”. Just checking.

Okay, let's go down the road in a thought experiment. If, in your mind, our global military presence is out there to 'conquer' others, then what happens if we reduce the number of overseas bases to zero?

So, what I'd like to hear is your perspective on the second-order effects over the long term if the USA has zero overseas bases which essentially eliminates the possibility of global logistics and participating in a significant global military event that could use the USA's assets 'today' and not in a year.

Also, I'd like to hear your perspective on what happens if WW3 erupts and our NATO partners ask us to live up to our NATO commitment? With zero bases in the countries of our Allies, our ability to integrate with them in any military operation degrades to zero. What effect will that have?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

First off, I haven't commented on any appropriate numbers.

Feb 27, 2023, 11:14 AM

Most of our bases are on "conquered" territory post WW II and are now allies. Guess who's paying for it.

As an aside, I thought abandoning Bagram was a major strategic mistake given it's infrastructure and location.

"Zero" was never an option. Then again, the 'off-the-books' operations aren't even included in the above reference.
