Who should be consider our next baseball HC
Apr 9, 2014, 8:30 AM

since JackLeg won't make personal changes when these kids continue to make bad throws and drop fly ball they need to sit and watch and give some of the new recruits a chance to show they can play.
This team has been awful at pitching, fielding and hitting for the last 3 or 4 years and no changes have been made. Either Jack needs to go or those assistant need to go and get some coaches in here who know the game.
If Jack won't do it fire him and the line will be long for this job opening.
I think one man to look at would be the HC at Georgia Southern.
I don't know his name but remember reading about his record for his years at Georgia Southern and he seems to be a pretty good coach. If he had the Clemson money no telling what he could do.
I'm sure they are 50 more just as good as he is and maybe better. Clemson needs a change to turn this around and I hope it starts the day after this season is over.

beat up one time? I'm not sure he's got what it takes. Plus remember when he said a double is better than a HR or something like that? I don't think that coaching philosophy would make it.

have to remember coaches names but I do remember when I read good things about someone,
maybe you could give an opinion or a name rather than sit around and be a do nothing person and just take the losses because you can't see a problem because your glasses or to thick to see through.
here is the guy, like I said he pretty good and GA. Southern has a very good team this year who beat the crap out of Clemson. As I said they are probably many more just as good so take the blinder off and don't come back with some stupid comment like this man is the end all.
Georgia Southern coach
Rodney Hennon
Head Coach
Rodney Hennon enters his 13th season as Head Coach of the Georgia Southern Baseball Program. Under Hennon's guidance, the Eagles have won at least 30 games every year and have done so for 12-straight seasons. Hennon joins legendary coach Jack Stallings as the only coaches in Georgia Southern history to record more than 10 straight 30-win seasons. He also ranks 41st among active NCAA Division I head coaches with a 62.2 winning percentage.
Since taking over the storied program before the 2000 season, Hennon has accumulated a 440-283 record, including an impressive 222-126 record in Southern Conference play. Hennon surpassed legendary coach J.I. Clements for second place on the all-time wins list during the 2008 season. He picked up his 321st Georgia Southern win in a 17-13 victory over The Citadel on May 2nd.
In his 14 seasons as a head coach at Georgia Southern and Western Carolina Hennon has amassed a 521-321-1 overall record and a 260-142 record in the SoCon. Hennon earned his 500th career victory in a 7-1 win over the College of Charleston on March 27, 2011 in Charleston, S.C. and was honored by the College Baseball Foundation National All-Star Coach of the Week for reaching the milestone.

I can't recall but he's not beating the teams to win the ACC or get to the CWS
Maybe someone else can and get Clemson back to where it use to be.
If this man had the money and resources behind him like Jack does he might be able to do it. If he can do this well at Ga. Southern I think he could do as well as Jack has done the last 3 or 4 years.
Like I said, he not the end all, there probably many more just as good if not better. But it clear to most Jack isn't getting the job done lately.

If you would check you'd see Clemson is way behind the coots, uva, ncstate, unc miami and fsu in baseball facilities.
So he wouldn't do anything special

lol @ blaming facilities.
I guess for 19 years Clemson has been behind in Facilities?
Also if that excuse held any water then we would struggle with recruiting. That is not the case.

BLAMING FACILITIES IS DUMB FOR SURE. however, when we get the construction finished recruiting will only improve much like with the west end zone in football. and to say we have not struggled with recruiting when riginos was here is dumb also. lecroy is fixing that. he has only 2 classes under his belt. listen guys, if lecroy dont work out i will be the first on the mountain top yelling. i choose to give the guy a chance.

I like Lecroy... I would not have a problem with him being named HC in waiting. I just think it is time for new blood at the top.
I dont think Jack should be fired.... He deserves better than that but he needs to be nudged in the direction towards retirement.

I agree, Corbin would be great but he seems pretty well set at Vandy and probably has as much money and support there as he would get at Clemson.
There may be a number of coaches in lower divisions who can do a great job if given a shot at a school like Clemson.
Some what like the chance Clemson gave Leggett when he came here as an assistant from WC and was handed the job are BW retired.

CLEMSON typically goes after an untested and unknown HC, so don't expect to get any veterans with a proven track record. When Jack leaves, the bellyaching is really going to happen on t-net. We may go thru 3-4 coaches before t-net settles down and lives with whatever we finally settle on. Buckle up when Jack leaves. The ride will be bumpy on a good day.

Sometimes, "tough love" is needed.

I know full well what will happen if we replace the coach. But, for the possibility of improving, I am willing to suffer another bad year. But, to continue down the same path is not good.
In the eighth inning last night, I looked around the stadium. I saw A LOT of green (empty) seats. The stadium was desolate! Continue down the same path, baseball will suffer.
