Who is the best college quarterback, oh how forget

Sep 19, 2016, 1:22 AM

I think Clemson is a sleeping Giant. Coaching staff is trying to develop depth in examining their games, Clemson isn't in it for style points- as he noted after the Auburn win. They are a leader- #2 with 46 consecutive home wins against un-ranked opponents. They still do well on the road, and it's hard to forget Watson's performance in the National Championship Game. Nick S. said himself" He is the most impactful they've ever played against since Cam Newton".

The ACC is becoming a powerhouse, but now Louisville in knocking on the door . I don't expect Deshaun Watson to have trouble scoring against Louisville and now especially on Florida State. Louisville's defense is salty, but so is Clemson's DL with some 6ft 3, 300 pounders in their that have fast twitch and were high recruited by Venables that have already stacked up some sacks this year. Clemson's defense has shown year after year now that Venables develops these young men into pass-rushing. run-stuffing machines. While their offensive line hasn't played spectacular yet, they return 3 starters that are veterans to the big stages, beating opponents like NC, Oklahoma, and coming within 5 pints of a national championship win. I expect Watson to come out against Florida State and Louisville with the high scoring mindset, and that of a veteran college ( highly decorated ) quarterback to win in these games and take the ACC. None the less, Louisville will be ready, and Clemson can expect for Deshaun Watson to reply with every touchdown with one of his own. Then he needs to have good performance against Florida State and Clemson needs to come away with a Win.

Watson is a good decision maker, can make good reads, and has shown off his big arm in the downfield many times. They can still take the ACC, regardless of style points or not. Right now Lamar Jackson is looking like the superstar of the ACC, but now Watson should take his rightful place with a win against Louisville at home, but beating G.A. Tech in dominant fashion first. This is Watson's Junior/Last year, and I expect Him to start giving Lamar Jackson a run for his money, contending as He wins games all throughout this Clemson football season.

They are the sleeper, Watson and Co. is still poised to have one of the highest scoring offenses in school history- even though they haven't shown that yet, until Sat. S.C. State Bulldogs head coach asked for " mercy" and agreed with the Clemson coaching staff to play 2 quarters at 12 minutes. That was the first time in school history that Clemson had scored that high in the first half, breaking yet another offensive stat at home. Clemson opponent's asking for mercy, even though they are small, it sends a sign of a high scoring offense and a tough defense to take it to the top again this year against all ACC foes and that of a bowl game and another run at the national championship.

Louisville is now a major contender in the ACC, Ohio State , Stanford along with Michigan and of course, Houston. Tom Herman has that team dialed in, so does Urban Myer. Washington is still a dark horse in week 4. Finally, the giant who hasn't been sleeping- Alabama. whoever wins the SEC Tennessee, Florida, LSU will have to go through Alabama to get to the playoff. Which Clemson will inevitably play if they really are the team that can go un-defeated.

I suspect it will be one of the teams mentioned above going into week 4 that will end up at the Playoffs. Clemson has to win at G.A Tech on the road with a short schedule. If they win ( I think it will need to be decisive & dominant ) showing that Clemson is ready for Louisville, Florida State & The ACC Coastal champ. This will be the first time Dabo has ever won their as a head coach ( first win at Auburn since 50 + years), and the first Clemson win @ G.A. Tech since 2003.

I suspect that Deshaun and Company are geared now for conference play and making great strides towards high scoring games against the two next Foes on the way to the ACC Championship and the Playoff. I know the potential is there, like many of you. Let's hope that they seize the moment. We shall see. Turnover margin has to be very slim, and they have to play now with " Power " against teams that can put up serious points around the nation on Top 5 Opponent's. Clemson can do it, they just have to stay focused. S.C. State wasn't a good enough test yet this year, G.A tech should mix things up with their triple option play, and Justin Thomas can throw and run, not to mention that their wide receivers are back. We'll know if they are ACC top caliber going into Louisville if they conquer G.A. Tech on the road and show off some of those high scoring skills and defensive stops on 4th & 1.
I study conferences teams, their weaknesses, their strengths, and who returns from 2015 and impact players for their teams Each team has a couple if not at least one that could be somewhere in the Heisman race. It maybe that these are the only teams that are showing power, and the ability to score highly, protect the ball, and be very effective on defense are the ones that are just the most noticeable at this time. Six to Seven powerhouse Teams are on the rise, and if Clemson expects to make another run at the national championship, They will need Deshaun Watson to carry the team as a leader, Boulware as a motivational Senior Leader on Defense along with Tankersly, Wilkins is the best their is on the Line, on the other side with Mitch Hyatt and His "Technique skills". Scott, Williams and Gallman - I expect will play more and offer leadership along with Deshaun to keep the wide receiving core and running backs hungry. It's a team effort. Clemson now has to play aggressive on defense and offense, with a chip, as an " underdog again" if needed. What ever it take. At the end of the day, it comes down to which team is the most hungry for it.

Deshaun Watson: First FBS player to pass for over 4,000 and rush for over 1000+ in a single season year. All The hype is on Jackson, but we know that Watson & Co. has the capability to outscore any opponent, with a salty D-Line and an O.L that Venables is coaching up. We'll see more in week 4.

How We forget.

Forgive some grammatical errors and dates if they aren't exact. It's tough to fact check everything 2x once you study all the conferences and players. You go upon memory. If my memory serves me right,
Deshaun Watson should have a stellar year this year, it's his time to Shine. We're 4 weeks in and everyone is ready to give Jackson the trophy. It's not about the trophy though, it's about taking it all the way, and dominating your opponent's. Play with toughness, concentration and the underdog mentality if needed to take it all the way. It's a long road. Clemson will have play their best ball for the next two weeks, then Face FL State later. We'll hope for the best.

At least he put forth the effort to think it and write it. Though long, it was pretty factual and I hope it will prove to be spot on prophetic.

Yes, there was a lot of effort, appreciate you pointing that out. I would rather give good info and provide a backdrop to a post, than to just write a bunch of one-liners. No offense to those who do. To each his own. I don't post much, I read more than post.

I hope it all does come to fruition and we see the Tiger Football Team that we know have the potential to take it all this year. Watson is still the best in the country. Jackson has speed, but can his thin frame take the hits from a hard hitting pass rush Venables will dial up? He's somewhat like Deshaun, that He can't be stopped- but contained. Contained to what level? Then Clemson will have to stuff the run in which Venables and Co. will show us the package and different "looks" for the players to execute their reads. Jackson doesn't have as many big games against Big D Line ( and pass rushers ) under his belt as Deshaun. Deshaun has gained weight, matured and should be poised more than ever to tack up Big numbers with the offense for this season to make it to the playoff's, and compete with whomever for the national Title- and win.

I, also, amd wordy, but that's okay. The one liners lack points of reference in many cases, IMO.

All of us see the potential. I am optimistic, but a realist. Watson can do it. He has the Will to Win. This video solidifies.
