Dec 2, 2021, 10:13 AM

Michigan loses
Bama beats Georgia
Cincy loses

4. Ole Miss (jumps Ohio State)

Doubt it, there would be a revolt. Starting with

There seems to be an undercurrent of schools who are adamant about the SEC trying to dominate the playoffs. That is a good thing because they are the only ones standing up to the SEC.

Frankly though, I do think if Bama beats Georgia that the

two of them deserve to be in this year. Unless you get to a point where you only take the conference champs.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bama is absolutely going to get in if they upset Georgia...

Dec 2, 2021, 10:28 AM

which is why you may see Georgia mail it in and take one for the conference so the $EC can get two teams in the CFP and set-up a potential rematch in the championship game.

1 - Bama
2 - Georgia
3 - Michigan
4 - Cincinnati

Alabama is no doubt in if they win, but do you really think

Dec 2, 2021, 10:38 AM

Georgia would give up the SEC championship for Alabama and the SEC?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Absolutely if it means more money...

Dec 2, 2021, 10:46 AM

for the $EC.

A conference championship is nice but winning the national championship is the ultimate end goal.

Good point. In reality, I may be one of the few who actually

think Alabama is going to win. I just get the feeling it's time for Kirby to do Kirby things.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nobody with any pride is going to do that.***

I said pride not price and yes it does. You think Dabo

would roll over and lose one to FSU so that we got two in? No way in hell.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Pride has nothing to do with it. It's all about the $$$$$

Dec 2, 2021, 11:21 AM

We're not talking about Dabo.

We're talking about the $EC.

Right. Because Kirby Smart secretly wants to have to beat Nick Saban twice. Its just crazy enough to work.

I don't think Georgia is automatic if they lose.

The SEC winner is *in* but the loser is likely out. If they win -OK State, Cincy, and Michigan all have stronger claims that the losers

Why? You have a few 0 or 1 loss teams still lurking. IF you are going to lose to a team, make it a nothing team, not a fellow CFP contender. I think Clemson/ND is the only exception but that was because they included teams with only 6 wins and most others had 2 losses.

Example" TCU/Baylor 2014 - both contenders.
Iowa 2015
OSU/Wisconsin 2016
Georgia 2019
Texas AM 2020

Basically, if you lose a game to a team "in the running" it is a bad disadvantage if there is another team with the *same* record.

You can’t really be dumb enough to think uga would tank the championship game? Ridiculous.

who is Ohio St. going to lose to?***

Dec 2, 2021, 10:35 AM

Oregon or Baylor would get the nod over both 31-0hio State as well as Ol Miss

An 11-2 conference champ would get a nod over 31-0hio State. Especially Oregon. Baylor would like need Oregon to lose to get the last spot

If Ole Miss somehow got in, they might win it. Pretty much everybody will be healthy by the playoffs, and they can go back to their real offense. I don't think UGA could stop it. But they won't get in.

If that don't work Stankey can always pull off another quick expansion with OK State or ND.

Why in the world would anybody want to see a 4 team playoff where one team had already beaten two of the other teams this year (in your scenario anyway)?
