Right now and use those names? See several ppl offended that we praise our 'Lady' Tigers for a great year!
I think any one complaining about us saying Lady Tigers should be highly offended about this game and team names. How dare they??
In jest of course! I am amazed at the ppl that waste there time to act offended. I am proud of our Lady Tigers! Here is to next year!

I assume so since they have that on their fields but so many seem so easily offended. I wanted to point it out that others use that designation and they don't seem offended by it.

If gender opposite of Cowboys is Cowgirls, then

Gender opposite of Gamecocks is HENS.
Volunteers can be male or female, so would make sense to me to leave off the "Lady" for the UT Softball team since there is not a Men Volunteers softball team.
Tigers can be male or female, so it makes sense to not call the Clemson softball team Lady Tigers since there is not a men's Tigers softball team. I think this is why our softball team does not refer to themselves as Lady Tigers.
But, call them whatever you want. That's the world we live in.

Makes me smile.
My dad was ranting about the “everybody’s a victim mentality” 50 years ago.
He was decades ahead of his time.

Okahoma State doesn't really have much choice. It would be awkward to call all their teams (men and women) Cowboys. Cow women doesn't have the same ring to it.

Cowgirls are a real thing. Definition is "The equivalent to a male Cowboy"
Ya hear that? Equal. Getting called a girl when you're a girl seems to be offensive now a days, I think it's an honor.

I think you missed the point of my post. I fully understand Cowgirls is a real thing and is in no way offensive. I was reacting to those who insist we not use the terms lady or girl for sport teams.
I was trying to make the point that while Tennessee could just use the term Volunteers for both men's and women's teams, Oklahoma State didn't have that option to use the same name for both male and female teams.

Lady Vols have their own trademark at UT. The Orange Power "T" with "Lady Vols" in blue ###### in the middle. Been that way for a long time.

I learned from the announcers in our baseball game this weekend, the tar hole blue color that the Lady Vols call Summit blue (after Pat Summit) came from getting hand-me-down uniforms from UNC when Tennessee was starting their Lady Vols program (I assume basketball). I had not heard that story before.
Update: Not sure the announcers got that right about donated uniforms from UNC but there is a UNC color connection according to this I found on line:
Lady Vols—Blue on Uniforms
In 1968, when Joan Cronan became head Lady Vols basketball coach at 23 years old, the Lady Vols did not have any uniforms—they were playing in T-shirts and shorts. Cronan set about to change that. Only a few companies made women’s basketball uniforms, and none offered an orange uniform. She found some uniforms with orange lettering, which was fine for road games, but rules prohibited home teams from wearing white. Cronan had to decide what color the home-game uniforms would be. She liked Carolina (Columbia) Blue. It was available, and it went well with orange lettering. In a few years, there was soon no problem with getting orange uniforms, but a “touch of Columbia blue” has remained.

I lived in Knoxville for some time and did not know the history behind it. Apparently the Lady Vols logo was removed from the "T" by the AD in 2014 but brought back in 2017 by a different AD due to a lot of backlash from fans.

Dropped “Lady”

I thought Clemson announced they had dropped “Lady” from the women’s teams? It’s never used in Clemson publications and is not used on TNet in any articles about the women’s teams.
