Too much shade now, later in the day would give us some color of the tiger. Thanks

I know that loyalty, tradition and monuments are largely disregarded in this current culture, but there is great value to things like that old tiger from the old scoreboard. It was there when my dad was at Clemson, it was there when my brother and I were at Clemson, and it ought to be there until there's not a Clemson anymore. I'm glad to see that our school gets that.

I agree - remember seeing the old Tiger from my first.......

Sep 1, 2022, 9:59 AM

game in 1964 with my Dad through every season since then. For us older alumni and fans, connections to the "old days" at Clemson mean a lot.

Curious. Are you referring to loyalty, tradition and monuments to a treasonous Christian confederacy that fought and lost a war to own black people?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who in the helll are you? Did I say that? Did I........

Sep 1, 2022, 10:41 AM

refer to those things? Does everything about the past have to refer to race? You're the only person who brought that up. You're the one with a racial problem.

In GatorBowl's post, he mentioned the "color of the Tiger." You can't mention "color" on this board or you are a racist ;)

Lincoln made it about slavery, but was about states rights

Sep 12, 2023, 6:35 PM [ in reply to Re: Agree 100% ]

Versus federal dictates… some states wanted to remain semi independent to run their own state as their voters chose to want it run, while staying United with the other states on national defense, interstate commerce and foreign relations.

The need for slave labor in predominately rural farming was becoming obsolete thanks to modern inventions, so slavery was on the way out eventually regardless. The issue of slavery was the cudgel used by the more urban, industrialized northern states to inflict their will on the more rural, southern states using the power of the federal government as the enforcer. The south vehemently hated the elitist northerners who looked down their noses at them. And the south didn’t have enough population to attend to the crops sufficiently to make a living without importing cheap labor (sound familiar given current illegal immigration issue?).

The civil war was about states wanting to retain autonomy from the Fed overlords and slave labor was the crystallizing issue that precipitated the blood letting.

Had the South won that war, slavery still would have been abolished but at a later time when other means of labor or massive automation became available in a cost effective way. And we would not be so politically divided as we are today.

The fact is the Left (via the Federal deep state) keeps pushing blue state dictates on red states, who’s voter’s overwhelmingly disagree. And it is still the issue TODAY! This fundamental disagreement will ultimately lead to another blood letting civil war. The sooner we fix the Fed government by reducing its dictatorial power over the states, the sooner we get back to be a great country again.

I’ve heard all the talking points about secession my whole life. One day I got sort of worked up and in an attempt to counter another persons argument read the original reasons for secession. It wasn’t really what I expected, given what I’ve always been told.

I recommend that everyone read a transcript (or struggle through the original handwritten document) to see exactly why SC seceded…”Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union”.

Read for yourself and form your own opinion on why SC seceded and set the war in motion.

You should probably read more. Slavery was a major reason for several of the southern states to secede from the union. Anyone that states other wise is either willfully ignorant or just repeating every BS story there were told their entire life.

Lincoln didn't make it about slavery. In fact he said if he could preserve the Union without freeing the slaves he would do so.

from each state. I think you'll be surprised.

SC's is very short if you're interested. This one actually has less of a focus on slavery than many other states, but it's prominent regardless.

100% correct Hufferbilly. The Deep State, big blue cities, Washington DC, MSM, Hollywood have become the enemies of working class/average US citizen. They are elitists who are our "betters" and they feel entitled to make us bow to them. How else can you view how Hillary the Great has been treated(she was absolutely guilty) vs how Trump has and is being treated.

Re: Tiger on top of scoreboard

Sep 1, 2022, 10:43 AM

The larger one looks much better IMO. Really should have made him that size on the old scoreboard. The old tiger really was too small as the stadium and scoreboard have grown over the years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually think it could be bigger now… after seeing how big

Sep 1, 2022, 11:48 AM

That screen is… geezus, that screen looks gargantuan once you can put it in perspective to that Tiger. This shall suffice for now, but don’t be shocked if/when there is an enhanced, bigger version one day in the not too distant future.

Maybe my eyes are failing me but I don't see the tail. I know the old one had the tiger tail sticking up. Not complaining though, I love the look and colors of the new one.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

It’s coming. You can see the arm where the tail will go on the video the school released.
