Jan 15, 2018, 7:59 PM

Is Florida State going to be a contender?

Except some out of nowhere Pitt/Syracuse-esque team

Jan 15, 2018, 8:09 PM

that the ACC schedules for us on a Friday night on the road.

There's something in these hills.

We’ll have GT on a Thur short week after A&M, FSU, and UL.

Jan 15, 2018, 8:17 PM

but if this team has learned anything, we won’t have another let down like that again. 15-0 baby.

It won't matter, we are chopping off the heads of everybody we play. I'm hoping they will bring in a couple of those Canadian league teams for a competitive game!!!

2nd best will be Miami followed closely by FSU with Francois and Akers

Jan 15, 2018, 8:05 PM

Followed by VT and Fuente/NC State and Finley

Wouldn't play Miami or VT until ACCCG and get the Wolfpack in the Valley where they usually play much, MUCH worse than at home.

As usual, the biggest test will be the noles. Got to get by then in a tough road environment.

Being realistic FSU at Doak is never something to look past. They're talented across the entire roster and if this new coach is solid they'll be a strong team. I don't believe on our level but if we're not A+ that night they will absolutely make it a dog fight.

I agree. Still have 5 star talent all over the field.

No they're not, but I believe that it will take FSU a few years to recover from losing Jimbo!!!

True

Nobody, but that’s not the problem.

Jan 15, 2018, 8:19 PM

We need to improve our offense a lot if we hope to win another national championship.

I believe that in several games next season we will be tested offensively. This will be especially true at the end of the season in title games and playoffs (if we play too potential) so we will have to score in 20s or 30s at win. Be WRU as well as run the ball. Offensive line will get better or every practice will be a nightmare for the offense. GO TIGERS!!!

Yes

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would you think we wouldn't improve on offense?

Jan 16, 2018, 6:25 AM [ in reply to Nobody, but that’s not the problem. ]

I expect a lot, no matter who the QB is. We'll have big guys who can will jump balls at 9 again to improve downfield passing. Depth, talent and versatility on the OL. The return of our best blocking TE in Williams. Two extremely talented RB's. And honestly, does anyone really expect KB to remain stagnant as much as he's already proven people wrong?

The year of real PT last year for our skill players will show. I expect great improvement in WR blocking. Only real questions to me are who starts on OL, but I think whoever wins those competitions will be fine and probably an all around upgrade, especially in pass blocking.

Maybe Va Tech or Miami. Don’t sleep on BC on the road as a tough game.

Yep. Got to figure the BC game will be a Friday night special gift wrapped from the conference office. I truly hate Friday night games, unless it’s some PAC-12 contest with nothing else on tv.

NcSt...

Finley, their very efficient QB is back. Hines is back, Samuels is gone thank God and pretty much their whole receiving Corp is coming back. They have 2 high school All Americans who both played in the Army All Star game. Aliem McNeil a DT who I really wanted and some WR I believe, can't remember his name. They'll more than likely give us a game.

NC State lost a ton. They were a senior heavy team last season. I think they lost 8 on defense.

Doeren should have left when his stock was high.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They lost 9 starters off their defense including their

Jan 16, 2018, 9:22 AM [ in reply to Re: Who in the ACC will challenge us? ]

entire front 7. They don't recruit well enough to overcome that kind of attrition. Even with Chubb and all of those guys their defense only finished 62nd in S&P+. They are going to be BAD on that side of the ball next year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

FSU will have our game circled no doubt @ Doak

y'all are crazy if you think we're just gonna walk through conference play....NC St, FSU and Wake...yes, Wake....will all be tight games this year....and Miami is gonna be even better next year....not to say we won't be favored in every game, but it's not gonna be a stroll to the CFP
